Damn gotta love these turbos

Hey guys got back from the track yesterday and so far my ecoboost has beaten a 2014 v6 base mustang and a 2008 mustang gt premium. I also raced my friends 2003 gt mustang but he got 2nd gear late so I don't really count it

They're only pissy because they lost to a four cylinder. Which you could mess with basically all the GTs up to 10 and win. I wouldn't be surprised if you win against the N/A 4Vs, but they would be more of a challenge.

Yeah I always tell them that but of course they rant on about how my stang I just a 4 cylinder but I just keep quiet and let the car do the talking. They can't say s**t when they see my tail lights during a race

I hear someone has done all sorts of witchcraft with that engine and got over 550rwhp. That's a force to reckoned with.

What times did you run?
...at what speed?
...what was your reaction time?

What were the times, etc, of the two cars you mentioned?

1/8 mile or 1/4 mile?

Post some pics of your time slips.

Pretty sure there are minor bolt on and tune Ecos with suspension in the 11s now. I know that they hit low 12s with them pretty much out of the gate.

Would love to see what the auto Eco with a good suspension/converter setup is doing.

You have the stick or the auto? I'd hope auto for the Eco.

They definitely seem to be great performance cars and definitely better performance than a V6. I am by no means knocking them but I guess my old but just has a hard time letting go of the V8 mindset lol. I know I know... you do not need to convince me it is awesome performance I know that. Maybe it is from being a kid of the 70's / 80's??

Someone help me out with the mentality (you can all insert your sarcasm here, lol)

Either way though as I said not knocking. great day at the track and keep slaying them down.

Talking

I just returned from Mustang Week where I saw hundreds of ponies running the 1/4 mile at drag night. I witnessed all the "modern" 2011+ models (GT,V6, V4Eco). Below are the times for models running a CAI and 93 octane type tune.
2015 V4 ECO -13.8s - 30K new 2015 base (only 1 I saw)
2011 V6 3.7 -13.6s - 24K new 2015 base (only a couple took fastest)
2015 GT 5.0 -13.2s - 34K new 2015 base (many took fastest)

I have a STOCK (no mods) 2013 V6 manual that ran a best of 14.2 and worst of 15.2 due to missing the infamous 2-3 shift and hitting the rev limiter. I'm taking the extra 10k for a GT and building a 500+hp (450rwhp) pony running in the 11s or the 10s if I go with turbos all without the need for forged internals. Wonder what taking the 4k savings and modding an Ecoboost could produce. To me horsepower for money invested is king...
