Stock 5.0 vs full bolt on 06 gt

I have a stock 13 5.0 and I have a buddy with a full bolt on plus free flow heads my question is who would win in a race?

"Free flow heads".

If that's what your buddy calls them tell him to pull his head out of his *** and then sell his car and go buy a Toyota.

Lol this is good. I have been curious as to how a full bolt on 3v with heads would fair against a coyote.

A full Bolton 3v with heads would be equivalent to a stock coyote.

The Coyote will make at least as much power as a full bolt on 3V. Suspension and gears and the driver mod will make the difference.

However I doubt this 3V in question is actually FULL "bolt ons".

I didn't mean power I meant more in the terms of performance.

Not even close.... Even with aftermarket cams in the 3v he'll only be touching stock coyote power levels.

If the 3v had just full bolt ons as soon as the the coyote hits 2nd and 3rd gear it's going to pull ahead and stay ahead fast.

You are going to need cams on that 3v to get in the same class as a coyote. But as soon as the coyote gets an exhaust and tune the 3v will need more work.

I would consider cams part of full bolt on

Cams are not "bolt ons" as far as everything I've ever heard or seen or talked about myself. "Bolt on" means something you bolt to the car/motor without touching the internals.

Power adders are technically bolt ons...

So bolt ons for a 3v would be intake tune headers and intake manifold basically?

Too many different definitions.
Always considered bolt ons as everything that bolts on the engine block.

Adventure till you drop.

under car vid of my 3v (302rwhp, 3500 lbs race weight, suspension & tire) vs. a friends 5.0 (drag tires, UCA/LCA's, stock struts/springs/shocks)

(5.0 in left lane comes into view ~6 second mark)

Very nice race. Sounds like the 3V let off the throttle as the 5.0 caught up.

To match a stock 5.0, a 3V will need the cams and Ford Racing Manifold.

My 3v had:

110MM JLT intake
Ford Racing TB
Ford Racing Manifold
Detroit Rock'r Cams
Pypes LT Headers
Pypes O/R X
Pypes Violator Mufflers
Steeda UDP
One Piece Aluminum DS
Ford Racing 4.10 Gears
Custom tune by Paul at Modern Muscle
All this led to one of the higher dynos you will see on a 3V fully N/A

I mad 371WHP/332WTQ

Shifting 1st gear at 7k and all the others at 6800, launching at 6500 and pulling 1.81 60' on Nitto 275 555 STREET tires not DRs, I was able to run 12.5X at 111.X

That is what a well launched, stock 5.0 will run. If the 3V has heads, in addition to all the mods I listed for MY car, then the 3V should be a little quicker, all else being equal. But without manifold, TB, and my larger intake 110M PLUS his heads, the 5.0 should still walk him
