With my current position, I could afford a GT as a dd, but I have no use for the power. 305 hp gets me to the speed limit fast enough. I won't be in the market for one [GT500] for another decade or so. Then it is either the next gen GT(40/44/2020), or a used Ferrari FF. Unless the equivelant GT500 then is a beast, again.
I really hope they don't do away with it. I often see Ford not refer to the GT500 as a Mustang, but as its own vehicle. Maybe that is why the 2.0 is the only "Mustang" to make it. Like the FT86, people will buy it no matter what. Make a decent product, then when the newness wears off, make it better. If they made the most beautiful car ever with 500 hp that gets 80 mpg and runs off of water and never brokedown, then they can't make it much better next year or redesign in five :/
