Mr. Patel, welcome to Mustang Evolution.
My question is when can we expect to see the direct injection coyote.

Thank you for your time, TC

Mr. Patel,

My question would be:
What led ford in the way they went on the design of the new mustang? What audience are you trying to attract?

Thanks,
And congrats on the new model, I personally really like it.

Is the wheelbase length the same as the previous generation. And how much will the car weigh? Can we expect an updated version of the coyote? These are all need to know questions for us

The team designed a Mustang based upon our 50 years of heritage and then we took it global.

Wheelbase is same as today's car. The 5.0L engine has been significantly updated including 420+ HP and 390+ ft-lbs of torque. As far as the weight is concerned, we are still in midst of confirming our final weight but the team has set very aggressive targets and we are on track to achieve those.

We are not ready to comment on final horsepower and pricing information as we are still developing those.

Hi Mr. Patel,

Thank you for joining us today. I was wondering if we might see a return of the glass roof or even a retractable glass roof like that of the Lincoln MKZ?

Is this not the number we seen in the 13/14 model 5.0? ^^

Mr Patel,

Will we be able to buy the current 2.3l Ecoboost engine as a crate engine with install kit for the '05-'09 Mustangs? We are many interested in swapping to that small and smart engine!

Thank you for your time, GF

Hello,
Thank you for such a beautiful Mustang, I have a 2013 GT that I love. My question is what transmission is being used on the 6-speed GT, V6, and 4CYL Turbo......The MT82's have been hit or miss as far as reliability due to shifter / pressure plate/etc....
My main concern is reliablity..it is a sports car and who ever buys it wants to put it through its paces without having to worry the tranny will be shot in inder 10k miles..
Thanks

The 13/14 model year 5.0L engine is at 420 HP and the new Mustang will improve upon that. We can not share the final horsepower numbers at this time as we are still developing them.

I have several questions for you!
1. When will Ford release the full list of specs for all of the models? (0-60mph, hp, tq, etc.)
2. For the autos, what influenced your decision on how to make the shifter? It looks pretty tall to me. I'm just curious how you decided on that design versus a short, stubby shifter similar to what is seen in other performance cars. (Sorry if the question is confusing, that's the best way I could word it
3. Will Ford be transitioning a lot of their future lineup to use the Fusion influenced grill? The current Fusion and the 2015 have some design cues for the front headlights and grill that they share. What came first, and do you plan to role out more Fords with this look?

At this point in time, the team is focused on delivering the all-new Mustang with factory-equipped 2.3L EcoBoost.

The new Mustang will feature tire sizes of 235-265 for the front and 235-275 for the rear. We are not releasing the final gear ratios at this time.

I have heard the rumors that the Ecoboost will be standard in the European market, however, will the V6 or V8 engine be available there as well?

Thank you for your question on manual transmission (and for your compliment!) We have significantly upgraded shifting as well as reliability performance of the manual transmission which will be available with all three engines.

Mr Patel,

Is the color "Guard" green or a dark grey? It is hard to tell on the ford.com site.

Will a limited sip diff be "standard"?

Will the Turbo car be named "SVO"? (please ): )

1. The full specs will be available as we get closer to launch.
2. The all-new automatic shifter is designed and styled to provide world-class ergonomics and styling.
3. The new Mustang grille is a shout-out to our Mustang DNA --- signature forward-leaning trapezoidal grille from the 60s.

Does the rear glass lift up like a hatch back? Or is it more like a 67-68 Fastback where just the metal below the glass lifts? Thank you!

The color guard has green hues.

We cannot comment on standard v. optional features at this point.

The final badging strategy has not been completed yet.

I am happy that the conditions were right for Ford to offer IRS. For some of the old school guys, will there be a Ford Racing accessory "solid rear axle" kit? Might be a fun thing to offer if it is possible engineering-wise.

The all-new Mustang is a fastback design with a decklid and significantly improved trunk space.
