I would drive one even if it was Mary Kay Pink with Purple stripes.

Not saying it doesn't look good the way it is, just think the throw-back colors would be great. It is a GT350.

Nice to see Ford finally catch up with everyone else in the handling department by using magnetic suspension. However, no carbon ceramic brakes means this car will still be slower than the Z28 on a track.

You've gotta be a troll, every ford vs or mustang vs thread you post in you are always pointing out flaws in the mustang or just flat out saying ford can't compete with so and so. You realize this is a forum for Ford Mustangs right? Who cares if it slower around a track than the mythical z28? I would buy one if these in a heartbeat. You couldn't give me a Camero.

And.... you know this how? No official numbers or options have been released yet. There very well could be a "track pack" that includes a carbon ceramic brake package and other goodies. It's too soon to say yet. The Z/28 is still a formidable opponent as it is a full blown track car that doesn't come with a radio and has two vents for "A/C," if you want to call it that. Not to mention it has the widdest stock front tires on any production car being built.

Not trolling, just stating facts. I own 2 Mustangs and a Camaro. I know the pros and cons of each and I don't BS myself or anyone else.

The Z28 has better suspension and brakes, that's just fact. There is no getting around it. I will give you that they are different platforms so what suspension works for one might not work as well for the other. That said, the Camaro has magnetic suspension on the ZL1 and 1LE and it was dumped for the DSSV setup on the Z28.

Carbon Ceramic brakes will outperform conventional disks on any race track. That's just a fact. There is a reason race cars have them and not the standard rotors, pads and calipers found on lesser cars.

Also, nobody could give you a Camero as they don't exist. It's spelled Camaro.

This GT350 will likely be faster in a straight line than the Z28, however, in the corners and under braking, the Z28 will beat the GT350. That is where the Z28 will win on a track. Just look at the comparisons of track times with the Boss 302 and GT500 vs the Camaro 1LE. Both Fords had an advantage in acceleration, especially the GT500, but lost it all in cornering and braking.

You really need to stop with this crap. You have no idea what you're talking about. You've driven the new gt350? Please by all means go to a Camaro forum because no one cares

Z28 also doesn't come standard with AC or a radio... So yea the Z/28 may win, but they sell it as a street legal track car. I'm sure the GT350 is still going to be plenty comfy on the inside. What Ford could do is make a GT350R model, gut that one like the Z28 and then add the Carbon brakes ect.... then its a perfect competitor for the Z28.

While I agree with some aspects of what Ish is saying, the car was just unveiled, we haven't even seen it perform on the track yet, so EVERYTHING is still speculation. Who knows, it could blow the Z28 away, or it could be an utter failure... We just don't know yet.

Also, im sure the GT350 is going to cost at least $10k less than the Z28. Spend that $10k on those brakes and see where you get.

That's not what ish is saying. According to him the new gt350 already lost to the Z28

GT350 uses 10.5" up front and 11" in the back. I'm not sure if they are using an SLA set up in the front, or if they are still using the crappy MacPherson set up. If they are using the MacPherson set up then that is pretty impressive to get 10.5" up front, an SLA in the same car you'd be able to go at least an inch wider in most cases.

Either way, i bet most of the people who actually end up buying the Z28 or the GT350 will never push it to its limits.

I would be utterly surprised if it gets wrecked that easily. It may have 500 horsepower, but the suspension and tires and brakes are better than most cars on the road.

lets do the math on the VW *

0 to 60 in 3.8 seconds
Guaranteed almost 1 G in lateral
Will run circles around any rear wheel drive car

$40,000 , A bargain

2016 Ford Focus RS with 350 HP all wheel
Not a bad ride either

Muscle cars look cool
sound cool,

But handle like doggy poo

I drove in a 600 HP street legal Rally All Wheel EVO once.
Now Thats FUN !!!!!

I like streeting with my Stang , But Iam just waiting for the pocket rockets
to join the dance.

Give it two years and watch out !!!

Pretty sure the GT350 would blow the VW doors off at any track, straight or curvy.

I am sure the Camaro and other cars handle well on the track, but there is one major flaw it is a GM (Government Motors) would not invest a dime into a bailout company product. Ford held their own and Ford like many manufacturers have went and received financing but they never bailed out like the others.

The whole chevy vs ford thing is old. Who cares, I like the camaro just as much as the mustang. Face it the camaro has been on top of the mustang untill 2011.
I do believe the Z28 will be a better track car than the gt350,
Mustang had the straight line down. But is a few years behind chevy when it comes to handling

Not to mention the huge gap where they didn't even make camaros .... But it is old. I like horsepower no matter what it is. I work on 5000 horsepower twin turbo v16s all day long.
They aren't very fast though ha ha. 0-60 in never.

Agreed, it seems as though Chevy is trying to steer the pony car segment in a different direction than just being a traditional "fast in a straight line," pony car. Apparently auto magazines and more importantly customers like the idea of sacraficing a little straight ahead speed for fun around the corners. I believe it was MotorTrend that did a comparison of the Camaro SS-1LE against the brand new 2015 Mustang GT with the performance pack. Randy Pobst said that he would take the Camaro over the Mustang any day at the track. I guess Ford is starting to realize that they need to start improving their corner carving and I believe this new GT350 is an awesome way to start moving in that direction.

The more I read about the GT350, although most is pure speculation, the more I feel as though I should save up for one.

Remember the Trans Am series back in the early '70s? Mustangs, T/A Challengers, AAR 'Cudas, AMXs, Camaros? It was all about corner carving. This really isn't a new concept for pony cars, just everything coming full circle.
