1.83 1.76 1.33 1.50

1.00 1.00 0.80 1.00
0.74 0.66 0.60 0.74

My guess is they will roll with the 2nd ratio with the 1.00 5th and .66 OD for a purpose built road racer. Although they could always pair the 1st gearset with a lower overall rear drive gear with that 5.00 1st...

Spec Sheet

Holy crap, look at those first gear options. Talk about tire spin lol.

Gonna be pretty sweet to see what kind of times it gets around the track.

"Ideal for light truck or SUV application"...... lol so its getting a truck tranny. Well at least we know it'll be able to tow **** and take a decent amount of torque. Neither of which are important or will happen since it has 100 more horsepower than torque.

As for the ratios. Choice B would be better for road racing as choice A has too big of drops between each of the gears, you want a close ratio. Unless specifically the car is set up for a wide ratio (which people do use wide ratios for road racing)

Really unsure why they just didn't go with a close ratio Magnum XL or whatever. Or even a beefed up Getrag. I know they are trying to keep weight down, this trans will prolly be fine though. It isn't like the 4R isn't a "Truck" tranny and its fine in Mustangs.

Just read on a FB page said msrp for the Shelby GT350 possibly starting at $52,995. And also mentioning a GT350R, which is expected to be seen in January at the Detroit Auto Show.

According to the FB page and a quick google search, the GT350R will have better brakes, stickier tires, and better aero.

Shelby GT350R and New Ford Performance Sub-Brand At 2015 Detroit Auto Show - Road & Track
"The 350R will be the Laguna Seca to the 350's Boss 302. Look for the 350R to, at minimum, get better aero, better brakes, and better rubber. If the Laguna Seca was any indication, expect the back seat to get the boot as well, with additional bracing likely. The Shelby 350R will be the car that Ford puts up as the answer to the Camaro Z/28, regardless of how good the standard GT350 may already be."

Msrp may be $52k. Expect them to sell in dealers for high $60s.

So it'll probably be at Z28 performance and price level at that point.

Better brakes i'm assuming Carbon Ceramic brakes.
Stickier tires are probably going to be barely DOT legal like the Z28 tires.
Better Aero, i'd like to see more front ground effects, rear diffuser, and adjustable rear spoiler. Possibly carbon fiber aero parts on the sides of the front bumper.

The Z28 is like in the $70k range insn't it? The 350R is the one that is going to go to toe with the Z28 and likely drop kick it right into 5th gen oblivion. GM will counter though, I'm already very excited to see what a 2016 LT1 powered "1LE" Camaro is going to do with the Alfa platform.

Keep an eye on the Cadillac ATS-V, it will be the first showing of the capabilities of the Alpha platform. Then remember the Camaro will be a bit faster still..

I can relate. I had a few "classics" back in the early 70s and then didn't touch a Mustang until I was 58. I'm now 63 and have three grown kids, no wife and three Mustangs again. Life is good.

In all honesty, even if I was in the market this second, I would hold off and wait to see what the 2016 looks like. I have a feeling its going to curb stomp the 2015GT and Ford is going to have to kick it up in a major way as far as power output.

If the new Camaro looks like the car from the transformers movie (like the old gen did with the first movie) then I don't care if it stomps the mustang in every way, I won't be able to stop laughing at how ugly it is every time I see it. It was unbearable seeing it in Transformers

Didn't it look like a cross between a current 5th gen Camaro and a Cavalier from the early 2000's?
