Will Mustang ever introduce a HUD option?

It seems that the Ford Mustang has stayed away from introducing a Heads up display option for the mustang. Is Ford against this technology? Will a future Mustang offer this option?

I've driven a 2013 bmw 328i for a couple years and i can say that I absolutely love it. I dont know why ford hasn't done so yet. Ive also seen a push to make them standard on cars in the next 5-10 years.

It'd be a nice touch if they ever do. When I was looking for a car, I was leaning towards getting a camaro because i thought that was a neat option to have, not having to look down at the speedo while maintaining your eyes on the road.

Proving to my fellow racers that the disdain that some GT drivers have for V6 drivers is unfounded, one results archive at a time since 2013.

I added an app on my iPhone that gives a HUD speedo with elevation. It works great in low light. I am also checking out a HUD navigation app.

Speedometer by David Garner. The screen touch to toggle between the display and controls should be a button, and the units for elevation are reversed, but it works well.

BTW, the GT350 is coming with a HUD.

At least with the information Ford is releasing right now, it sounds like it is only for the shift light. Seems like if they go to the expense of a HUD, it must be for more than just for the shift lights......right?

Maybe I'm alone in this, but when I test drove a Camaro that HUD gave me a headache.

I would love it- but it is a big expense. Projector, and then whatever special is needed for the windscreen. I like a lot of what Ford is doing, but it makes sense they can't do everything at once. Maybe next year? I wonder if the GT350 has it.

I love HUDs. My parents Corvette has one and it's pretty cool.

If you know your car well enough you don't have to look at the speedo. I can tell just about spot on how fast I'm going just by the sound. But I guess it would be some what cool to have HUD. Wouldn't be a deal breaker for me tho

I think they should focus on de-bugging all of their current technology, instead of adding more bling bling bells and whistles to break.

Who looks at their speedometer anyway? lol I use my butt-accelerometer to figure out if Im going fast enough. Works every time

There are a few aftermarket HUDs, but to me the extra cost isn't worth it just to see how fast I'm going. There are also a lot of free apps (or little cost for extra features) for our phones. I downloaded close to 10 of them the day I found out and tried them all out. Some were better than others in terms of customization (color, where things are placed, etc.) Some even had an RPM meter that would change size and color when you floored it - that was pretty kool. Problem is you have to tape or velcro your phone or phone case to your car and it's a hassle if you get a txt/call, unless you use sync. Plus, they only really worked well at night or really cloudy days. I had to reset my phone so I don't remember the app names, but if you search around the app stores you should be able to find them easily and give them a try. More of a gimmick to me. Wouldn't complain if they came stock on the car, though.

I love the way lay-persons use the term "technology" lol. Technology is defined as the application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes. Most of the people I hear who "totely love technology omgg" actually just like flashy turn-key digital media, and actually don't even have a working knowledge of how a microprocessor, ADC, DAC, or any of their "Technology" possessions work

When I want to get fancy, they have an app for that. I mainly use it on the cars that don't have a working speedo though... Great for driving a 700rwhp Elco at dawn.

In a buddies 08' Vette (Z51 car) it is nice.

In other words I don't care to pay for it. Besides, you should be able to tell how fast your going.... When the officer pulls you over just tell him that you though you were doing 60 in a 60... lol

Really miss the HUD on my 2001 Grand Prix GTP, a bit ahead of it's time back then I think.

I also miss the Prix's Sun roof.
