2018 GT500??

I am sure you have all seen these. I keep seeing that it "sounds" like a twin turbo V8. I am ok with turbos but I can't see them doing a twin turbo V8 Mustang and a Twin Turbo V6 GT. Maybe it is a turbo though. If it is though I can't see it haveing a GT500 tag or anything Shelby related. Thoughts?

I figure it will be a Mach or an SVT car badges and hoping it pushes about 750 or more!

I think its Ford testing the 'All Aluminum' body the Mustang was supposed to have had for the 2015 model year

2018 GT500??

Well the GT is for power to weight. GT500 is just power for drag. If it's the Voodoo with twins that would be amazing. Rumor has it, it'll have 800 Ponies.

It doesn't appear to be anything particularly drastic. In reality it looks like a Steeda wing on a Shelby.

Personally I think there is zero chance of a factory FI Voodoo, maybe a cross plane crank 5.2 which Ford Performance already has built.

Ford has to do something with the Mustang in reaction to the ZL1 Camaro, and the possibility that GM is preparing another version of the Z28.
800 HP ought to do it. This should recapture the magazine covers and shut up the Hellcat craziness.
Now, if they can bring this thing in at low to mid $70,000's that would be a marketing genius.

When did $70,000 become a good target price to be considered reasonably priced? If I am paying close to $100,000 I am going to look at used exotics or a sports based luxury car such as am M class BMW.

Sorry to disagree, but an 810 HP GT500 with a list price of $71,000 would be a GREAT price!! And, I never said "reasonably priced" as there would be nothing reasonable about a car like this.
Have you seen how the current Hellcats are priced (2016 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat costs $68,640 without options) or the last Z28 was priced?
Is $71,000 "close" to $100,000 for you? Not to me......seems about 41% of $71,000 short....

Keep in mind that the 14 GT500 was in the 65k range. Lots of people bought those. Frankly a 800 horse GT500 based on the S550 would slap the **** out of an M series.

Removed the 2012 GT/CS stripe (black on black sucks) Replaced with 13-14 Silver GT/CS stripes. I now have a 2015 Magnetic Gray Premium GT with Performance Pack, Borla's, Velgen 20" wheels with Nitto Invos with 275's up front, and 295's in the rear. Airaid CAI, JLT oil separator.

.
Base 14 GT500 - $ 54,800.00 + $ 795.00 delivery.
My 14, two options, glass roof & Recaros - $ 59,185.00.
.
Base price for a 2017 GT350 is $ 54,295.00 + $ 900.00 delivery.
Base price for a 2017 GT350R is $ 61,795.00 + $ 900.00 delivery.
IF Ford builds a future GT500, 70K would be a realistic base price.

Really, the base price of the GT350 was $50k (when introduced) or current $55k.

Subtract off the magnetic shocks and R's carbon fiber wheels, and you're back to the $50k price point. Flat plane crank had high development costs spread out over a small volume of cars. The PRESUMED GT500 CPC 5.x engine + supercharger or ecoboost turbo(s) is going to use an engine that's based on an older more proven technology. (presumably)

The GT500... assuming it fills the space it has in the past as a streetable "cobrajet" 1/4 mile car. Then it doesn't need magnetic shocks or CF wheels. Granted the wheels would help a little, but not $12k value as the car won't be bouncing on bumps like a GT350 / road course car.

I think they could easily have similar (base) price points and just target different audiences.

GT350 - $55k
GT350R - $63k
GT500 - $65k
