2013 V6 CDC grille swap

Anyone know why the CDC grille doesnt fit the 2013 V6 pony package?
Really need help to choose what grilles that fits the 2013 V6 pony package.

2013 V6 grilles

It should fit

2013 mca 3.7: DIB
mods: sportline springs, bmr lca, steeda adj. uca, bmr panhard bar, lca relocation brackets, jlt cai, 91 mpt race tune, lethal o/r x-pipe, pypes m-80 resonators, pypes pipe-bombs.

I'm not aware of it not fitting. It fits my MCA fine.

The AM website said it doesn't fit. It really confused me what makes it doesn't fit.

You might want to contact AM. This wouldn't be the first time there has been a mistake on their page.
For the people that did install this grille, did they have to do any special modification to make it fit or was it purely plug n play?

The only modification required is to cut a plastic center piece left over from the production mold. Otherwise, tape off the surrounding area to protect it, reach in and grab the old grille and pull straight back. Trim out the plastic, and slide the new grille into place. There isn't a need to remove the bumper at all.

This shows the back of the stock grille, and the center section is blocked off to hide the piece that is left behind it:


And this is the open CDC Performance Grille - so that left over piece has to come out or it will be exposed:


CDC doing the make over on my car at Mustang Alley 2012 during Woodward Dream Cruise, taping off the bumper cover:



Reach in to the grille, grab, pull straight back, no broken tabs:


Trim out the left over plastic from production:


Slide the new grille into the tabs


and done

It should fit, remove the 3 bars in the middle of the grille
