2013 GT grill to Shelby grill cut

Hi all,

Im thinking of cutting my grill just about where the fog lights end to give it that Shelby open grill style while retaining the GT look, but Ive never cut a grill before.

Has anyone tried cutting their grill for any reason?
Any specific tools to use?

Yes Ive heard the stories of stones and debris going inside the openings which is why ill also be installing the mesh grill kit.

Thanks in advance

I've never seen anyone do this and I can't wait to see your pics! I'm going with the CDC open grill myself and I'm not worried about anything getting damaged from rocks or birds. Lots of Mustangs have had that grill for a few years with no reports I know of with damaged a/c condensers. I guess there's a small risk though.
I bet if you take your time and do it real clean, it will be a unique open front look while you still retain your GT fogs.

just use something that cuts fast so it doesnt make the plastic all jagged at the edge, maybe a dremel with the right tip, let me know how ta do it!

I'd cut it and have some sandpaper to sand it down smooth

I remember Voltwings did that on his gf's lower grille I'm pretty sure and it looked pretty good. I'm half way considering just cutting the honeycomb out all around the lower grille like the Roush lower delete then put a piece of flimsy *** matte black electrical tape just above it to give it that "bigger" appearance so I can save $300 on buying the real one.
