optima redtop battery fitment

Have a friend asking if a optima redtop battery Model: 35
Part Number: 8020-164
7.685” Height at the top of terminals, will fit a 2013 GT
Existing battery appears to be about 6.5" high.
Optima recommends a 1" clearance above the battery.( I doubt that will happen.)
Does anyone have any first hand experience with fitting this battery.
I suppose when it comes down to it, we can physically try it with a small resilient spacer placed on top and very carefully lower the hood.

Last I checked, there isn't enough clearance in the 11+ Mustangs to use Optima.

Thanks!
Yeah the best I could estimate based on my '14 V6 was that it didn't look promising.

I had to get a Battery for my 2012 today, I just went to the dealer and got another five year battery from Motorcraft.
I just don't want the trouble of trying to make some other battery squeeze into the compartment and be bouncing around because it don;t fit right.
My original battery lasted almost five years and just went dead this morning. I feel that is long enough.
Expensive, but nothing is tooooo good for my "RED RYDER"

^ Also, for those of us living in cold areas, I recall reading the dry cell batts have poorer cold starting characteristics than the old lead-acid batts. True?

I have toyed with the idea of getting an AGM batt when my stocker eventually dies (3 years and counting, so far...)

Had a dry cell in my street rod since it was in the carpeted trunk. Perfect for that application, but not for my Mustang.
I'm gonna head to my Ford dealer as Ronnie has done soon since it's time for a new one for my 08. I think the stock one is due to be replaced by now.
