2015 Mustang 2 confirmed things

The 2015 will have a split rear axle, and there will be a 4 cylinder eco-boost mustang. Mainly to appeal to the market of people who like the look of the mustang, but don't really need the power.

The IRS is old news. As for the 4cyl that isn't confirmed. I wouldn't mind seeing one but I have a feeling it would drive up the price of the V6 and V8 if they did. And it that case, wouldn't be worth it. Maybe if they did a limited run on a turbo 4 with a nice handling setup as a SE. But even then it ain't worth it. I like the current engines and don't see a need for change. They make good power and get good mpg's.

If they don't need the power than they should find a different car, I guess ford is going to start making their mustangs for homosexuals who are worried about the ozone , and global warming and **** !

+10000... A Mustang is meant to be a Muscle Car, if people don't want the power and want better MPGs get a different car.

We may be seeing an EcoBoost in '15 ford hasn't confirmed it, but it has been said that the Mustang will see a 4cyl soon.

Am I the only one who thinks a 4cyl 2015 would kind of bastardize mustangs? I see them as being powerhouses...

It's not like there haven't been 4-cyl Mustangs, and not all were hated.

And you gotta think if the 4 cyl. comes it will be an ecoboost so it won't be slow.

If the new mustangs are a little lighter and have that 4 cyl eco then it would be very acceptable to mods and would probably be able to hang with the current stock 5.0s with bolt ons and tune...i would think anyway the newest 2.0 4 cyl ecoboost is rated at 301 hp and then with with full boltons it could easily see 400+ hp at the crank and if its lighter than the current 5.0s it would definantly compete

---------- Post added at 11:41 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:39 PM ----------

I would however like to see the 6 cyl ecoboost... 365 hp factory could see big gains once tuners got ahold of it

Not likely. Sounds like the 6 cyl will be on the low end of the spectrum as far as hp goes...lower than what it is now...to make the 4 cyl ecoboost look like a more attractive choice.

i don't see how they could build an all new v6 and then have it in the car for 3 years and scrap it...i know that the eco-boost 6 is a no go but i was saying they should do it...i dont think they are going to do the turbo 4 either i was just saying that it would not be a bad thing to have a turbo 4

Also, the 14' will be using the same tail lights as the 13'. (im referring to the square LED's) At the test track in Italy, where the 14 is being tested, you could see the lights shine through the 10' back panel. They use the 10' on top so they can cover the actual car.

Re: 2015 Mustang 2 confirmed things

From the article:
Quote:
The changes will begin under the hood. Ford brass have confirmed that an Eco-Boost engine will be added to the future portfolio. A smaller-displacement, high-output V6 (code-named Nano) would provide ample grunt while likely improving efficiency.
So Eco-boost is a certainty. It's not 100% clear to me if that means the 4 or the 6. It also makes it sound like the 3.7 is indeed going away--at least for the Mustang.

Idk, I don't see any quotes from Ford themselves. Just he said she said blah. I'll wait for Ford to say something before I believe anything.

I heard the 4 Cyl Eco-boost, and a High Output V6 but no V8 confirmed? What kinda crap is that, Mustang needs a V8 its a muscle car that's what its meant for.

With the current ricer trend, I worry that with a 4cyl option. We will attract some more confused Mustang owners.

The way it read to me was that they are making a high output small displacement eco-boost v6.... And being that it has the code name it may be a completely new engine for ford...and ford would be retarded to not have a v8 option

I haven't read anything on the new Stangs yet. But I would guess it would make the most sense to use the same EcoBoost engine that is currently in the EcoBoost F150's. 365hp @ 5,000 and 420 lb. - ft. @ 2,500. Can't get over these numbers. Low end torque baby!!!

Hmm I'm watching the speculation closely and the only proof we have is just as good as saying maybe, or maybe not. I'm waiting for more information because I have an article on this very subject cooking. I just don't want to publish fluff.
