If they look like that, then I hope mustang gets discontinued, because the only a pos like that could do is ruin the mustang name. :.pissed-off:

Actually, there is not enough change in that mock-up... Anyone scared by that photo is gonna Shiite their pants with the concept and feint with the production. That has the same c-pillar. It's a half-assed drarrring done Friday afternoon. Trust me, quote me, it won't look like that starting just aft of the rear wheel

Stop with this 'looks like an Aston' crap! Love the (mustang) model? Know the freakin car company!

Ford owned Aston from 94 to 07. If you don't know what PAG is, then google it. Come on! Ford owned Aston and SAVED Aston with that same design! Go to the UK and find that they REVERE the focus more than we love our stangs. Ford has done more in Europe over the last 20 years than Benz has done in the US. This car has Ford Europe involved; not the bs spy photo, but the development team. That is the same team that saved Aston, range rover and jag (that one is a 'kinda'). They are not stealing anything! Bring it home, yes. Ford is more dynamic than any other car company in the world. This will again be a wtf moment when it is released... They understand (after the last 5.0) that 'mericans won't settle for crap hp/to numbers, and euros want to turn really fast. The fact they want to cater to us both has me salivating

I can remember in '87 when ford released the new rounded style F150. People's first impression was that they hated it. NOW it's among some the favorite body styles. There is going to be people who hate the new Mustang and people who love it. In the end I believe Ford will not let us down. Keep the V8 in the GT and if they go to IRS give us the option to put a live axle in. Be it a drag race package or room under there for aftermarket parts.

I remember my friends hated the headlights. Looking back, I like it. Have to say I really like the new F150's.

+1 for IRS and drag race pack

Power/weight ratio and being able to take turns...that doesn't bug me. Things will always change, some body style peopenlike, others don't. I don't like fox bodies and I can't stand the look of 2005-2009. But i appreciate that they led to the 10-14 look.

Until we see them in person, the "spy shots"will never be accurate... Especially in this photoshop age.

Everyone seems to hate major departures. I didn't like the 2010/11 body (especially the big a$$). But then... It grew on me. Now I love it.

I think ford will still do the mustang proud.

And don't forget, IRS has graced some bad *** stangs.

I think it will be a nice blend.

I would like to see a premium v8 vehicle of the evos body style to compete with higher end sports cars and keep the mustang an affordable muscle car.

Ohh and while ford is at it, bring back the Ford GT sportin' the new 5.8 supercharged beast!!!!

The term euro design is silly. Think the current vette looks bad? Nope. Park it by a Ferrari 575 and debafge them then ask 1000 ppl to identify the vette. Bet most can't. If Ford wants to sleek out the mustang a bit I say go for it. The market they are going after is simultaneously more upscale (baby boomers with money for sophisticated cars) and young money looking for a all rounder sports car. Want a old school muscle car? Buy one. They are not going to build you a brand new classic. If the concept car car and driver printed this month was the new mustang I would put my phone down for one right now. That hood is big enough for the big v8s and it looks throughly modern to me. Then I'll go kill some exotics and all the other current muscle cars with it.

It's a slightly re-tooled 1998 Supra. If Ford wants a euro-concept, then design and build one. But don't screw up the Mustang while doing it. It's the same crap they tried when they were going to replace the mustang with the probe. They want a global platform like they did with the latest Fiesta. It's an economic decision not a consumer decision.

Economics always trumps what a small market segment wants. Always.

True on economics, but I'm not sure about the Mustang market being a small market segment. Also trying to build a better BMW or Nissan doesn't make any sense either. You're not going to win over very many of those customers. Making a small eco car global makes sense, it's a different market. For people that drive BMW's, porche's, Mustang's, Camaro's, Challenger's, etc. it's a more personal thing, not just a means of getting from one place to another on the least amount of gas only.

I think everyone thinks that just because you complain about some euro trash direction that all they want is a 67 fastback with modern engine. I love the classics, I have a 67, but I love my 07, it's a blast. I don't expect the mustang not to evolve. But it should maintain some elements of a mustang. No matter what the design, when someone sees it and hears it, they should know its a mustang. That's the whole point.

Read the article about it on their website. It'll have a turbo 4 @240 and a V6 and the Coyote. People don't avoid a mustang because of the mpg very often. Why would some pay more for a 4 vs. a more HP V6? They speculate that it's engine bay is too small for the SC 5.8 GT500 motor and that it will be a twin turbo coyote 5.0.

Looks like some punk kid installed a pony emblem on the grill because he it would look cool.

Ford has been invaded by Design eating Euro-Rice Trash.

you'd be surprised what a bump in fuel economy could do... it may not be avoided due to mpg's but it will probably draw more people to it

In my own personal opinion I'd love for them to revamp the fox body style as a limited edition mustang. To me that would be awesome.
