This is exactly what I thought of when I saw it, although it looks like the current generation Mustang had the least influence in the mating.

This won't be what it looks like. I'm sure Ford will have a better design than that. I'm guessing a longer grill than the 13s and then it'll have the new slanted, thin lights.

Whatever, happens I always say to myself why not. No matter what comes along will be accepted eventually as long as it's still pure muscle and can be modified in your driveway.

I love my 11 body style but yeah the design is getting old. Time to move on. The sales numbers are also showing that its time to move on. This is the second year in a row that GM has sold more units for there Camaro over the Mustang. The Mustang is a better overall vehicle, nicer interior, better visibility than the Camaro yet the Camaro sells more. That's because the exterior is freaking awesome looking and its a hot fresh design. Now don't get me wrong, its a piece of GM garbage that doesn't hold the oil filter of the Mustang when it comes to quality but people love the design of the Camaro. Time to move forward and get a new, fresh look for the pony and take back being the king of the pony wars.

I've noticed that there are few Mustangs on the lots and the Chevy dealers have rows of Camaros. I also see more Mustangs on the street. When do they count sales? To the public or to the deslerships?
I also maintain that Camaro sales are short lived because people realize they come and go. They want one before its discontinued again.

You have no clue what your talking about... The camaro isn't garbage. I actually like both cars i actually think Chevy outdid the mustang for 2013. Yeah the mustang has better better visibility and fuel mileage then the camaro but actually the camaro does have a nicer interior. And the reason ford brought back the old retro style mustang is because ford needed money and it was easier to make then a whole new designed car. That is also why we don't have IRS yet. Chevy had the same problem in 2002 they were tight on money and did sell many camaro units so there was a long absence in the Cameros.

If you think the Camaro has a nicer interior than the Mustang, then respectfully we must agree to strongly disagree. The interior of the Camaro is cheap looking and made of plastic looking garbage. The interior of the Mustang is classy looking and flows beautifully. I test drove the new Camaro and GM should be ashamed to have made such a cheesy looking console along with its instrument panel. The exterior is a different beast with great lines and beautiful curves.

You will not convince me that GM produces great quality products that last 200k plus miles. The quality of GM products are garbage that don't hold a candle to the quality of Ford. My parents who are in there mid 60's and grew up on GM there whole life never had a GM vehicle last more than 100K miles without having transmission, engine issues or other issues with there car. There cars ranged from high end Buick's, high end Pontiac's, Oldsmobile, GMC and they all fell apart. Garage they were are still are.

My mother has driven a Toyota since 2004, has 205K and the car runs strong. All she every does is change the oil and that's it. Based upon my own experience, Ford produces a much better quality vehicle than GM does including the Camaro. There garage and would not buy a Government Motors vehicle.

Back to the topic. Its time Ford does move forward with its design of the mustang. Ford wants to sell it's car to a much wider scale than they have in the past and if they loose some serious mustang enthusiasts to gain thousands more consumers then I'm sure they don't care. Ford is not going to be concerned if they loose a few thousand customers if they gain 10 times that in new customers.

Are you really serious to say the Camaro has a nicer interior than the Mustang? It's not even close. Just look at cheap looking knobs that all over the console. Even the fuel and oil gauges above the gear shifter looks like cheap ugly a$$.

I know it wasn't me, but can we all agree they're both not world class and call it a day? (I know the answer but I'm trying anyway)

I think they both look fine. Would prefer some chrome in the Chevy.

I really don't care as long as its FAST. It will need at least a 75-100HP bump to get me to buy a NEW one. I'm pretty happy with my 05.

The Subaru WRX is fast, do you want it to look like that?

I could see STI, but the WRX unmodified isn't very impressive, personally. A great car, but between awd and 265 hp, its not that amazing. I mean its been bumping up each year, but the STi is still at 305, and its been 300/5 for a long time now...come on Subaru!

My gosh. I can't believe this has turned into an argument about some POS rice burner.
The man said he didn't care about what the new mustang looked like only that its fast. So one of the ugliest cars available SC is the WRX, which had some cars running in the low 13's, but that's irrelevant. The point was an ugly *** car and he said it was fine as long as it was fast. So lets focus on the WRX.

You guys think they will stick with the 5.0 I doubt they built such a good new engine just to use it for 4 years

I hope so, but I read a non reputable article (weird generic website, although they were the first to have pics ofthe 2014 Mustang) that said the 5.8 is done in 2014. Which, is the greatest engine I know of. 670 hp, better fuel economy than a camaro ss, its fantastic. Off topic, sorry aggre, but just on the note of discontinuing good engines.

I hope they keep making the gt500.. If they announce that they are stopping it than I'm going to be really disappointed.

I would bet the prices of the 5.8 stay flat. I think its a bargain, what one gets for the vehicle. If one can spend 60k on a "Mustang"

I agree. That happens... My next ford would likely only be a truck (raptor preferably).
