^^ This. I've been trying to explain this to some of my friends and they just don't seem to see it. I much prefer the 2013/14 look to the 15.

Man, totally agree with you bro. I'm not a fan of the 2015 as well and while I don't feel its plug ugly or hate it, its certainly disappointing to me. The cars rear end and tail lights are really the worse looking part to me. I can even get over the corporate Ford Fusion similar front fasica and the 370Z side profile but that rear end is just horrible.

Granted I understand Ford was trying to incorporate the 1st generation downwards rear slope and taillights but in my opinion failed miserably at it. The 13-14 taillights were and are perfection of modern technology and the 15 taillights design went back 10 steps. So much for Ford moving forward with the 2015 design.

I totally agree with you, the exterior design really lost the modern muscle look edge over other sports like pony muscle cars. I certainly hope the sales numbers reflect well here in the U.S but who knows. It doesn't seem that a mass of mustang enthusiasts I speak with are going to make the jump. My father just last month purchased a 2014 5.0 CS convertible because he couldn't pass the deal up and likes the S197 design better.

Even at the American Muscle show back in August people around the 2015 did not seem super thrilled about it. I didn't hear a whole lot of positive responses from the crowd around me about it. When I was at the Philadelphia Auto show this past January I didn't hear possitive responses from the crowd about it. Nobody was falling all over the 2015 the way I thought people were going too.

I kinda agree about the muscle being gone in the looks, but not entirely. I think it's a bit more curvy and sexy rather than muscular. I think the aftermarket will add some muscle in the front bumper. We'll see though.

Yeah, it's not entirely gone, but it's certainly not as muscular as the 2011-14s. Maybe aftermarket will fix it, but IMO you shouldn't have to aftermarket mod your "muscle" car to make it look like a muscle car. It seems like Ford is going more for the European look (Figure 1: Ford Focus front end), but not entirely. Hopefully we don't end up completely European.

Totally agree that the aftermarket world will capitolaize with new front fasica's for it. But what they gonna do about that rear end.

I'm holding off on final judgment until I see it in person, but not sure I like it as much. I really like the newedge booties lol.

Totally agree that you should hold final judgment until you see it in person. I felt the same way as you until I saw it in person not just once but twice. Lol. I'm just not seeing this huge love from all these mustang enthusiasts on the various forums. Sure some like it but
not not the mass I thought there would be. All the hype that Ford gave the 2015 stang, it should have more units sold than Camaro did back in 2010.

I can't wait to see how many ordinary non enthusists buy the 2015? The way Ford is talking about this 2015, they should have near record or record unit sales of this 2015 over the past 10 years of sales.

I think it looks great besides the rear. I am OKAY with the butt, but holy crap- the rear quarter panels just look so misplaced. Blank. Forgotten.

I don't like the rear much, it just continues the trend of meshing into one solid piece. Think 12 to 13 rear, and this looks like one big chunk. Maybe it's just me.

Color really sets it off, too. The red looked bland, the yellow looks decent, but the dark colors looked wicked- gray and black. I've only seen those four colors in person.

I don't know why, but I like the Ingot silver best. Other than that, I agree though, the darker colors look best.

See, now from the back straight up, I think the 2015 looks great. From a slight angle though, where you see the tail light ridges, that's what I'm not so sure about.

Yeah. The back of the 2015 feels much more like say a BMW or Audi (NOT similar shape, but same "look and feel" if you know what I mean). Obviously people disagree, but I like the "rugged", musclely feel of the 2011-14 back instead of the sportier looking 2015.

I get it, you guys don't like the back end. Personally I feel the '13-14 tails still had like 2-4 years left in them and absolutely loved mine.

I think this is the look they were going for with the retro fastback approach and I like them...

I think your right about that look they were trying to go with the retro fastback approach but confused because the 2015 is not a retro model. Retro is the 2005-2014, S197. This is the all new furtureistic 2015. Remember, Ford was supposed to be designing an all new fresh original modern stang and that really fell to pot. They tried to make the rear look retro but instead it looks silly and cheap knockoff and so doesn't work with the car.

I was disappointed when it first came out, but it's growing on me and seeing one in person will probably help. But I think that's the problem with it. Most people seem to have a big issue with a part of the design, they either hate the rear end or the front end or side design. It's hard to plop down that much money when you have doubts about a major part of the design.

It'll be interesting to see what Ford does if its a hit in Europe, but not here.

I'm sure they'll sell out of initial shipments, but will sales take off when people start seeing them on the streets or drop off. Also most people really like the 13-14 and see this as an opportunity to get a good deal on one of those. The 2015 price tag is an issue too.

This is what I'm thinking. I guess the main target for Ford is European peeps.

I agree with you. When I was seeing the 2015 in pics and what others had to say about it I wasn't liking it at all. That front end looked plain ugly, the only things I liked was the booty and body. Tailights are ok, they tried a retro look didn't come out to good IMO.

I was lucky enough to see the '15 at the dealership and wow it sure looked different. But the front end still looked kinda off. Though the '15 is growing on me but I still don't seem to like the colors, only good ones are the ingot silver and the dark colors excluding Guard.

After people start seeing them on the road and in person they might have a change of heart. I know one of my cousin's likes the '15 and thinking about getting one. If I were to buy one, personally it would have to be a convertible in either ingot silver or black. I seem to like the convertible more than the coupe.

Let's see what happens with the sales.

P.S. just as Ford is being critizied of the looks of the '15 the designers of the '15 should be too, imo

I have ordered a 2015 2.3L with performance package.
Although there are a couple minor styling issues, the complete package over all is great imo.
I wanted a daily driver that I can still go have run on weekends. The new suspension should give this pony a great feel on the asphalt, and the 3:55 rearend will make it quick off the line. Paddle shifters for that feel of a standard is nice as my 50 year old hips would hate me if I had bought standard .
Love the new interior, having decided not to buy in 2013 because I found the interior very generic. Good use of better quailty materials. Yeah no cheap plastic knobs all aluminum.

As with every vehicle there are people who love it or hate it, I love it.
Cheers ecobeast

Nice! What color did you decide to go with? If I got one right now, I believe I'd get an auto too. I love driving a stick, but my doesn't much with anymore lol. Congrats!

Do we know yet if the factory turbo is maxed out on boost or can it be turned up to make more power?

From the reviews I have read online, it is a very tuner friendly motor.

We've come along way from a model A

So in order to increase the boost on a turbo one needs to have a performance tuner? I guess I'm really confused about how the turbo engines work when it comes to increasing boost.

I fully understand how a performance tuner inhances the parameters of the engine but particularly the factory turbo i wonder will the turbo itself ne maxed out. Is someone gonna have to spend 6-7k on an aftermarket bigger turbo to make say 450-500 rwhp or can you just turn the boost up on the factory turbo and get that.

How does all that turbo ***** work when it comes to.performance. tuners and increasing boost.
