Probably not me but never say never right? The first one I saw was at an auto show in January and I disliked it so much that I decided then to buy a new 2014 instead. I still think it looks like an Infiniti but I have seen a few on the road and they are slowly growing on me. Yesterday I was in the car with my dad who is not a car guy and I pointed out a 2015 coupe on the highway. His only comment was that it was an ugly car lol.

From that angle, it barely looks like a fusion. If anything, it looks like an Aston Martin and the New edge had a baby with a morphed 13-14 Mustang rear.

It's really funny

SCT drove into the Brothers performance show with two 2015 Mustangs. Nobody really noticed that they were 2015's until they popped the hood open on the red one and they seen it was a very ugly four cylinder engine.
Both cars blended in with all the other Mustangs very well.
The white GT had a bunch of signatures all over it. I did sign the hood.
I was parked and sitting just across from them and saw them pull in and back into the spaces set aside for them and never noticed they were 2015's. Nobody did.
Of course when they did open the hood to show the turbo four a crowd started stopping and looking and discovered what they were.

You can look at all the pictures you want to look at and until you see one in a crowd of about 100 Mustangs of all years and see that they blend in perfect you do not have a clue to what the new Mustangs are. They still have the Mustang look and persona that all Mustangs have had since 1964. Ford did a great job on the new 2015 Mustangs.
Ronnie

Hey Grom

Notice the huge crowd around this 2015

I did not even notice it was a 2015. I took the picture because of the strange paint job being black on the bottom and white on the top. I was pretty far away when i took the picture. SCT was put in their own parking spots.

I took this one after the red one parked and opened the hood. That is when people started to gather around.

Just read an article on one of the new Steeda 2015s... damn thing is already starting to grow on me... will have to see what the new prices on them look like in a few years. I'm going to be ready to buy one just in time for the suspected 2017 refresh so we'll see. It is still going to need to be wtf awesome to sway me away from a nice 11/12 but I can likely get 0% interest or damn near that on a new car from my Credit Union. FML...

Ford, Chevy, and the others have been doing it for years. They always have some familiarity between models. Blame it on the designers and marketing gurus.

It worked out so well for Pontiac.
It makes no sense.
Let's design a 50th anniversary tribute to a muscle car and make it look like a mid size 4 door family car.
Absolute genius.

Lol, I think it's beautiful. Especially after seeing it in person. If the 2015 Mustang styling would have come out before the Focus/Fusion, would every hater be singing a different tune?

I saw a 2015 in person for the first time today and had, basically, the same experience as Ronnie... I was looking straight at the car and still had to have it pointed out to me that it was a 2015. At first glance, they look like '14 models, but when you look close, the changes are obvious.
There is no way that a 2015 Mustang will be mistaken for a Fusion.
I liked it! Didn't get too close of a look, because there were cooler cars to browse at this particular event, but it looked as good as any Mustang that has been built in the present decade.

I'm thinking about this if someone that has a fusion and just slap a pony logo in the front grill, I wonder if people would mistakenly thinks it's a Mustang. That will be a cool mod for the fusion guys. Lol.

They are starting to grow on me more and more honestly... I hate it... Couple with the fact that the ecoboost is already churning out huge numbers without even bolt ons means that for those of us who are going to want one for a DD as well it's probably going to be a 400whp, 35+mpg ride... Livernois just took a tune only ecoboost with drag wheels/tires and the pass. seat removed to 12.1 @112 in the 1/4 mile.

Hey 2011 Kona Blue

You sure are right on this

Unless one is going to drive their DD 4 banger with drag radials everywhere, then you ain't running those times.

Well obviously not going to run those times on street tires, I'm just saying that you can DD around a 400+whp car getting great mileage/economy and then swap out a set of tires for the 1/4 on the weekends and crank up the boost on a race tune or whatever. They're going to get these into the 11s with just a tune/tires which means with basic bolt ons, converter upgrade to the auto etc... and who knows. Seems like fuel is going to be the limiting factor with those mechanical cam driven pumps in the 2.3L...

I'm also eagerly awaiting Ford to announce the rumored Focus RS with AWD and the same motor. Focus with true AWD and a 350hp Ecoboost that can be cranked to 450-500... yeah...

Going to appeal to different crowds. There are going to be the ppl who will buy the Focus or the Mustang no matter which one is better. But yeah if the RS hits the states its going to be very interesting. From the spy shots I'm seeing though, the prototype is a 4 door but that could always change.

I don't understand how you could possibly mistake the 2015 for the 2014...I mean you must be blind, clueless or something !

"Better in person"...for me it was worst in person...when I test drove it I noticed how the back sits way too low and if you look at it standing up it feels like a family sedan with an elongated ***. Something along the lines of a Pinto! You have to crouch down to get a better "angle".

This is what the 2014's are far better at...no matter what angle you look at it the car looks amazing always. 2015...looks great on some shots, crap on others and everything in between.

But beauty is in the eye of the beholder...what is a turn off for me and will not make me buy it after my 2014 goes, is the fact that this car has stopped being an American muscle...and turned into a slick fancy Euro sports car. NOT THE SAME

Test drive it and you'll know exactly what I mean if you know your cars...

The only one that seem 'Euro" to me is the ecoboost. i'm not really a fan of any ecoboost Ford makes. I prefer NA, but do like the SC on the GT500's and Raptor's. When I think turbo, I immediately think of import or Euro. i just don't like it.

I think the 2015 model is completely American Muscle. it's a logical next step for the Mustang. I admit that I was expecting a more radical change back before the first reveal of the body style, but after seeing it in person, I can see the light. It is an all ways better than the S197. It has just enough of a classic touch for my taste and I agree with many in this thread; the 2015 really doesn't look that much different than the S197.

Sooooo many people hated the foxbody back when it came out. Mostly them were older folks that had really liked or owned a classic Mustang. Truth be told, if it wasn't for the fox's success, the Mustang would be dead. There will always be people who prefer a specific bodystyle. There are some that only like one bodystyle. To those people, I say you are not a true Mustang fan. I like EVERY bodystyle of the Mustang. Sure, I have my preferences, but I could find a model from each generation that I would enjoy having. I can't say that for any other car out there, past or present. I'm finding that most of the people who are hating the new stang are S197 owners. Maybe some of them have never gone through the butthurt of a newer - better model in the driving life span. Maybe it's something simple that really, the only Mustang you like is the one you have and you wouldn't own a one if it wasn't what you currently have. There's nothing wrong with that, just realize that the designers did not have these type of people in mind when they created the 2015 styling. To finish up here...I think it's certainly representative of a modern musclecar.

And just for fun...Get a V8 and be proud of your american muscle! Wake the neighbors with that deep - throaty V8 and let the Euro stuffies have their little 4 - banger. And just in case anyone wants to throw out there that the ecoboost 4 will beat my Mach 1...Yeah, but I don't give a poo, cause that's not why I bought my Mustang. Besides, my Mach sounds better than most every 2V, 3V, or coyote out there. Don't blame me, blame Ford for making 4V's sound so wonderful.

I'll say it again, Livernois just did 12.1 @112mph on a tune only Ecoboost automatic. They may sound like weedwhackers and not satisfy the "purists" but they are no joke and there is going to be more than one Coyote or even earlier GT500 owner that gets their asses handed to them by a bolt on/tuned Eco.

I did not say they are a joke lol. I think I was pretty clear. I just don't like them. Just because it's faster than my stang or all the V6's doesn't mean I have to like it or own it. I didn't like the way the Grand Nationals sounded either, but they were badass in their day. I just personally don't care for turbos. I'm not a fan of boost. Or spray for that matter. I guess I'm old school. Boost = cheat lol I see why they do it tho. It's cheaper and will get better MPG than an all motor beast.

I'm not for or against the interior change. If Ford wants buttons and ***** sticking out all over the place then so be it. It still looks much better than that cheap plastic, kids toy looking interior of the Camaro.

But, the exterior is a poor design. There was a very lazy approach and lack of creativity when it came to this design. There were tons of beautiful concept 2015 mustangs drawn over the past 5 years and this was the best Ford could come up with? They just slapped a already used front fasica on the iconic mustang. It wasn't even like the front was original and unique. Good grief man!

I can even live with that front but Ford completely butchered the rear end. I mean those tail lights are pathetic looking compared to the 13-14 LED taillights. The downward slope of the whole rear end is just pitiful and weird looking.

We shall see how well the regular non enthusiast consumer takes to this new 2015 in the next year and how many US units are sold. If its so awesome , Ford should have near record sales on these 2015 mustangs in the upcoming year and should crush Camaro sales.

The Mustang Source Website is complete trash.

Chalk it up for another s197 hater. Count them up. There are so many. #justsaying I think everybody on the internet knows you don't like the 2015 lol.

Poor design and lazy approach? I don't see that anywhere. I wasn't real keen on the rear, but having seen it in person, I'm a big fan. I'm glad I kept an open mind about it. As for the interior, it's leaps and bounds better. Fit and finish as well as adding the touch of the 05 GT toggle switches. You are the first person I've heard of that didn't like the interior.

I'm not seeing what you're saying, know what I'm saying? The hips of the rear, the interior, the upgraded suspension and the promise of a great aftermarket...what's not to love?

Count all the s197 haters...just sayin'.
