They should have brought back New Edge and called it Newer Edge.

Shame. I'm sure the design will grow on me but it'll take a while. It's too bad, because the engine options and IRS sound absolutely awesome.

If the design doesn't grow on me (I hear the GT and other models may look more aggressive) then I'll probably be looking for a '14 GT, Boss 302, or a Terminator Cobra for my next car.

From the poor quality pictures of magazine pictures, Id say its hard to tell. Some scanned pics would be nice but we'll all get better ones tomorrow. I think i like the 15 mustang, but Ill have to see it in person to make judgement. Will it keep me from picking up a 13 or 14 GT? Maybe maybe not, still undecided.

Rear qtr looks like it's already been backed into. Why all those weird contours?

Really glad I got a '13.

The front is pure Taurus (which looks good on a Taurus but not so great here). The headlights are neat, but very Audi-ish. Do not like the hood, the vents do not seem to match this new style. The side profile looks interesting, a bit more curvy than the last iteration. Do not like that rear end at all.

You can definitely see that it is a bit smaller than the '13 and '14 body style, especially around the A pillar.

I'd like to see if they are bringing back the GT styled fogs (the grill mounted ones) or if they are sticking to the GT/CS type down in the lower corners.

I think this mustang says 'Audi' a little too much for an American Icon like the Mustang. That might have been what Ford was aiming at (and good for them, I hope it sells well in Europe!) but I don't think I'll be doing anything more than looking at them and shaking my head.

Anyone notice that the leaked photos don't have emblems on the fenders (5.0 or GT)....could mean the GT will look a bit better...hope so...in any case, Ford used the Audi S5; 370Z; Hyundai Genesis Coupe; Challenger; Camaro for design inspiration...obviously the Aston Martin was part of the mix....

Yup, too much Audi influence, especially the side body creases and the headlights. I love Audi, but that design doesn't belong on a Ford Mustang

It's really not all that different. Not nearly as drastic as fox to sn95 or new edge to the s197

Not attracted to this stang. The back looks great but the side looks like a damn 350z mixed with hyundai's genesis. Front looks like a Taurus. Ew

I have had a deposit for a "50th anniversary" Mustang since July!

I do like what I see, I am a Convertible buyer, so I want to see how the "C" pillar gets chopped for the drop top.

There is some "Mustang" styling to the design, some Aston Martin, some Jag, and double 5 spoke wheels are nice.

I like the "better than a Boss 302 performance" Now I want order guides, color availability, when do they begin production? DETAILS, DETAILS! I am home in the morning, GMA, I shall watch you tomorrow, no matter how bad your show is, I shall watch.

The real thing that changed is the front & rear. If u take away the front end it looks exactly like the 14 just maybe a tad shorter.

I really like the back. Those taillights are gorgeous. And I also love how it has gone back to a sort of fast back look. The three LEDs in the front hedlights also look very nice. Overall I would say that I like it with a few exceptions, the headlights/front is too Euro for me. And the side profile is a not as sleek and "fast" looking which i dont like.

One thing to keep in mind, this is the base model that we are seeing renderings of. So don't compare this to the bada$$ models of the current gen (like the GT500). Once we see some V8 models, and once we see the performance specs, I think it'll be very reassuring.

Just remember how much people hated the new Stingray at first. "It looks like a GTR" "it looks like a viper", etc.

I think the only good thing that came out of this change is the shed of 200 pounds and IRS. This car will be a monster, say goodbye even more, camaro.

Now I am happy in my decision to take advantage of all the Ford incentives I got on my 2014. Paid 28,900, all in, for my Base GT with Track Pack and Sync. (no sales tax here in NH.
From a looks standpoint the new car is not far from the 2014 look. It is just a wider lower version of what I have. Looks like they shortened the roof and window height. At 6"5" tall lower is not usually good for me. The back seat looks to be more useless but not that this would matter to me. A two seater now for sure though.
I like the look of the rear diffuser but a diffuser is just for show unless the entire undercarriage is covered.

Meh, I'm smelling what your stepping in, but I love me some Jap "muscle", too. I think the car still looks like a Mustang, but improved. Knowing Ford, this thing will have some kinks to work out. My 14 still has similar TSBs as some earlier models.

ymmv,

I'm with everyone else. Not really impressed, I was holding out on a 5.0 until I saw the new body style. At this point I don't know to run out and try and get a 14 model or hold out for a while and see what the different versions look like.

That AM picture is way more flattering imo. The back end kind of looks like a 66 fastback the way the rear fenders bulge away from the rear posts/window.

Im warming to it...

I was able to use 2,500 in incentives on my 2014 bought mid November. Plus when I sent my email address to Ford via their website they sent me a 750 certificate. The dealer sold me the car below Ford employee invoice...don't ask me how but they did. I suspect as we get close to the delivery of the 2015 that the incentives may improve a bit.
Just don't wait to long to find the car you want. There were only a handful of 2014 base models with track pack and sync only. I had to fly from NH to Maryland to get mine in my preferred dark grey color.

No one is happy with a new design of an icon. The big thing I have noticed is the lack of side scoops in the body shape. That will probably be one of the first add-on offerings.

I sure hope it turns out to be the MT rendition instead, an American Icon turned Euro is no longer an American Icon. This would be an improvement over what has been posted to me:

http://image.motortrend.com/f/wot/sh...ter-motion.jpg
I can buy a G37/370Z right now if that was the look I was after = sports car
These pictures do not show a Muscle Car.
