That's what I have been trying to tell people the gt has more power and less weight than a termi. I can't wait to see what they do with what will be the cobra or mach 1

GT starting in the low 40's they will not sell. The 14' GT starts at $33k you think someone will pay $7k -$9k more for a base 15' GT. the changes and improvements only warrant about a $2000 increase at the most. Maybe GT starting around $34,500.

2000 dollars are you kidding me your going from 420 hp to 475HP with new technology DIRECT INJECTED this gives them that impressive HP number , solid rear
axle to IRS , 3700 pounds to 3400 pounds , then add things like launch control
and other high tech goodies you are talking a entire NEW MUSCLE CAR here
that being said it would be GREAT to have a 35 k 2015 GT if that is the price I will be one of the first to buy this car , with such power and light weight
it's a no - brainer.... 0 to 60 should be in
3.s range , 1/4 mile times in the 11's STOCK that is AMAZING , then imagine
adding a SUPERCHARGER to this BEAST.....

0-60 in the 3's and the 1/4 in 11's. you are smoking some good stuff there bro. I bet a burnout in your car you will see low 4's and low to mid 12's stock. No way in hell will it run sub 4 60 times and sub 12 1/4 mile.

The 2011 GT500 with a pro driver ran a 4.0 0-60 and a 12.2 quarter. (Check 0-60.com) The 2011 GT500 had 550hp and had a power to weight ration of 6.9:1 The 15' GT if the 475hp is true will have a power to weight of 7.2:1 please explain to me how will a car that must pull more weight per horse power beat the 2011 GT500. Which was still .21 seconds from 11 in the quarter. My numbers will be more accurate. Not to mention the IRS will not launch as good as the solid rear.

Full bolt ons will probably get it a sub 12 quarter.

Yeah I firmly believe another $2K and the GT will start around $34.5K any more and sakes will drop from the 14' year in America any way.

If this is + $40k range, do you see that hindering the gt sales? I do. What's your take?

More like what are you smoking?? heck the 2013 GT premium ran a 4.3
0 to 60 with 3600+ pounds and a measly 420HP ..... think about it
the NEW GT will be in the high 3.s FACT. And it ran a 12.7 Stock
so a low 12's to high 11.s is not unreasonable , plus the IRS is new gen
and designed to hook up if you read more about the 2015 Mustang you
would know this..

Bottom line this new Mustang will be a BEAST ..... with world class performance.

That 0-60 by motortrend was at a drag strip where traction is better than normal conditions...

I'll bet you a burnout your wrong.

Fellow ME Stang owners Will the 15' GT be a sub 4sec 0-60 and high 11 1/4 car 100% stock? yes or no.

Measly 420hp dude you are smoking something good. 420 is far from measly!!! Go to 0-60.com and see how they get 0-60 times on their page the 13'GT ran 4.5 and 12.9...

0-60.com take creditable 0-60 times from many sources then they average them out. It will not be a sub 4sec 0-60 it will be close. At the dragstrip it might get one tick under but that is not normal driving conditions. Nobody on the street will EVER see sub 4sec 0-60 In a stock 15' GT.

Put the crack pipe down!!!

Where do u people get 475HP from? I thought Ford hadn't released final HP figures?

Also, its the same coyote motor. I don't think the first next gen model is going to have Direct fuel injection. Or unless I missed some press release.

I seriously doubt they will make such a high jump in HP. I'm thinking max we're looking at about 440-450. Wouldnt be surprised at just 430-435hp. Makes no sense in bumping HP to 475hp to bring it that much closer to their hi performance SVT model.

It is not you people... it is Gladiatoro stating 475hp. Myself and my opinion Ford will jump up to about the 435hp range. I agree with you 70hp is way to much of a jump. I just wish Gladiatoro would bet me a burnout in his car that the 15' GT will not be a sub 4sec 0-60 car. I would love to burn the tires off his car.

I don't believe it will be sub 3 0-60 or sub 11 quarter stock...

475 hp is waaay to big of a jump. I can understand a limited edition stang being up there (Mach 1 for example), but to make the base GT that high in power would be a bad move by Ford. Ford increases the hp almost every few years, gotta do it slow do they dont top it out.

The CNE himself said they used the Boss 302 as the bench mark for the engine tuning. If you recall, the Boss had 444 hp. The CNE also stated that the 15 would get forged rods etc etc. My point is, I have no doubt that the 15 will have at least 450hp out of the box...I'm guessing 450 will be the official number but the motors will likely have around 455-460.

I read that too forged internals , and 460-475 is a realistic number.

Strategically its smarter for them to start with 435hp and then use subsequently higher output like 475 as a second or third year model (ie 2010 to 2011 model years).

This allows them to boost sales figures in case the new stang has low sales. Also, if the show hand with 475hp then the next HP they would have to put out would be 500+ most likely at least 525+ because if the new stang's ain't selling with 475hp no ones gonna be impressed with just 25hp more so they'd probably have to boost to at least 525 which makes a stock GT too high of an HP model to fit in the scheme of performance lineup.

I never said on the street official numbers usually are on the strip for maximum
performance numbers and like I said the 2015 will be in the low 4's to
possible sub 4 on the dragstrip with slicks... and low 12's possibly high 11's
, remember power to weight ratio and the 2015 has that in spades...

Fords website say a bump in power. I would bet a bump at a couple hand full's 10-15hp. Then in 2016 direct injection to a nice jump in power. Everyone buying a 2015 will be upset like the 2010 guys were. If i like it over my 2014 I would wait till 2016 to buy one.

You never said low 4's or running slicks you said STOCK!!! don't back track. Everyone on your post states 3's in the 0-60 STOCK and not with slicks. You did backtrack once on the 11's for the quarter mile. You numbers are all over the place.

Again put down the crack pipe.

Dude the most expensive upgrade on the Boss are the internals despite powder forging. If they put forged internals then the cost of a bad GT would rise to probably at least $36-37k which puts even a mildly optioned GT at about $40k and a fully optioned out one to be about $43/44k.

Being an "international" model with even a slightly improved mpg it still is not a good enough to entice Europeans to buy it since gas is almost what $2-3 more per gallon. So if you increase the cost with forged internals that's increasing the price with what perhaps a 1-2mpg increase over the 13/14?

Besides just putting in forged rods and pistons don't add power.

auto show.... Direct injection is good for 15% power boost 420hp then = 483 HP

I agree..475 is too high to with the GT...which is why I think Ford will simply retune the Boss engine for 450-460 hp for the first year GT...next Boss/Mach 1 is rumored to get the Voodoo flat plane V8 (around 550 hp n/a) so 475 or more in a GT doesn't seem realistic.

The voodoo is for the gt 350 not the mach 1

True but you have to remember in Europe mostly 4 cly turbo's will be sold due to gas prices and high insurance fees not direct injected 5.0 s , it is very likely that the turbo 4's will be forged from the factory making around 350-400 hp. The 5.0 being forged
that is just a rumor .....

No not even close the 4s are said to have around the 315 that the 6 does now and the new 6 will be detuned to 300

You never said low 4's don't back track. Everyone of your post states 3's in the 0-60. You did backtrack once on the 11's fir the quarter mile. You numbers are all over the place.

Again put down the crack pipe.

Ha I think it is you who is smoking crack since I don`t do drugs it certainly is not me and yes low 4`s to high 3`s and low 12`s to high 11`s but ...........
only if the 2015 is DIRECT INJECTED with that being said the numbers I predict may not materialize until the 2016 model year .

Never believe what you read unless it is from Ford itself.

There will most likely be two versions of the Voodoo engine. One that is n/a and another that is twin turbo. The TT will go into whatever car will replace the GT500.The n/a version will go into a Boss/Mach 1 replacement.

I personally think the GT350 will be the Boss replacement and the GT500 will be renamed CobraJet or Ford will just bring back the Cobra.

The turbo four is said to cost more than the 6 cylinder so I`m sure it will have more Hp .... perhaps 400 is optimistic but I think 350 hp out of a twin turbo
4 is very possible.

Yes with mods it's already been said to be around the 315 mark not anywhere near 400 or 350

that being said it would be GREAT to have a 35 k 2015 GT if that is the price I will be one of the first to buy this car , with such power and light weight
it's a no - brainer.... 0 to 60 should be in
3.s range , 1/4 mile times in the 11's STOCK that is AMAZING , then imagine
adding a SUPERCHARGER to this BEAST.....
This was your original post about the 15' GT performance... No mention of you saying low 4sec stock or running slicks to get 3sec 0-60 and 11sec 1/4. Every post after you change your times and added slicks.

Believe half of what you see and none of what you read or hear.

No way will the new GT be pushing close to vette viper or 14' GT500 numbers.
