Nope, the mustang will still beat it, even with the 392, the challenger will still be heavy, anywhere from 400-600 pounds heavier depending on the weight for the mustang, and I don't think the challenger lost any.

Aren't the GT and R/T supposed to compete? The Scat Pack R/T and R/T Shaker (hate the name btw, scat means animal *****, but I digress) are the only Challengers getting the 6.4L. The R/T will make the same sub-400 hp as the 2014.

Not really

Since the 392 Hemi is NOT supercharged
its fair game for the 5.0

Not the Shelby

There is supposedly only a 30-35 horsepower difference between that and the 5.0, and a huge weight difference. What the manufacturer claims and what it actually gets is completely different.

The interior of the new Challenger is light years ahead of the old one too.

I don't mind the car but it is and always will be a pig unless they totally redesign and make it smaller. Wait for their "low 12's" to turn up 12.7 or worse.

Its speculation, have you seen your typical driver run low 12's in the new challenger? Probably not because they're not available yet, likewise for the 15 GT. Its all driver dependent, when a guy can get 10's in an N/A GT but some guys have a hard time getting low 11's in a 600+ RWHP GT is telling you something. Driver mod is going to play the biggest part on these cars.

Plus, 1/4 is only a fraction of total performance. I wonder how long it takes to stop that boat going 100mph, or the first time it goes around a hairpin turn on the track.

I drove the 392 hemi challenger before buying my stang and the mustang will beat it. It was a beautiful car though. I know mine is a '13 not a '15 but just thought I would let you know my experience with the 392 hemi. Lots of power but too much weight.

Looks good but it's a giant boat with wheels.

unfortunately it seems that the 2015 mustang will be slightly heavier. Only 30lb or so heavier though.

It's a one trick pony like the Super Snake.

Dyno queen but with too skinny tires to lay down the power for straight acceleration and too skinny rubber to handle the 50,000 pounds of pork.

Someone please tell me why these muscle cars all come with way too skinny tires?

I need to restrain myself as I am seriously considering dumping the Mustangs and Z28 and nabbing one of these .. but only if the price is right.

That ain't no ****. Pulley, exhaust, tune, cam, e85 and a little nitrous.

Definitely wouldn't pay 70k for it though. I would buy a used zr1 b4 that

The new Z06 is supposedly 80k base. I rather buy that than the Challenger Fatcat

I'd easily buy that, with the Z07 package added.

Yeah just don't mess up the hood. The insurance company might just total the car lol

Nvm the retail cost of the ZR1 hood is just $5700... I thought it was like $15k lol

If base is around 80K, I HIGHLY doubt the Z07 package and 8 speed auto would cost enough to make it 100+K OTD price
