2015 EcoBoost - The fake engine sounds, without the engine

These are the sounds that are added to the EcoBoost inside the cabin. Notice that it changes at different RPM and that it sounds absolutely nothing like an inline 4.

For those of you who thought it piped in it's own sounds, you were wrong.

I don't know if I should laugh, cry, be enraged, or what right now. The only thing I can think to do is just pray to all of the proposed gods that people believe in. I hope that one of them is real and can protect us from this kind of thing ever happening again.

that's not a fair playing of the sound.

1. It doesn't rev. through the full rpm to give you a more realistic representation of the sound that you would normally hear. That just seems to be some test pattern to make sure its working.

2. It doesn't have the engine also in the background to give you the real intended effect. Sounds are cumulative and add to each other, so the engine noise + that may perfectly harmonize together to give you the desired effect.

I know mfrs are doing this. Just because you can doesn't mean you should. I'm one who really likes sounds but this is just technology for it's own sake. Please stop.

thx Mud

I heard an ecoboost 4 cylinder today in person and that engine noise is not only too quiet to matter. It also sounded like a Toyota camry, so making it louder will just intensify the awful engine sound.

sounds better than I thought it would. Its still extremely lame that they have to use artificial sound. Whats next, artificial projections on the inside of the windows that make it look like you're going fast?

Maybe they should have a smoke machine under the rear bumper so that you can turn it on and rev the engine up in neutral. it will sound and look like your doing a burnout!
Better yet, just have the speakers play the engine sound while the fake smoke pours off your wheels, but get spinners too so it looks like they're actually spinning on the pavement even though they are not!
The best part about these cars is that you can get a hologram of a mechanic and project it near your cars hood, so you don't have to pay a real mechanic to fix your fake car!

I hear that in 2016, the mustang is going to become even more progressive and "green".

Its going to have this system on it to provide engine sounds.

Park in the garage, Replace the windshield with a 70" screen, add a PS4 and you're good to go. Smoke machine is an option.

That sounds awesome! Why pay the outrageous price of $30k for a real mustang, when you can just play the PS4 and have just as much virtual fun! I mean, chicks will dig the virtual mustang you have, then they will want to have cyber sex with you, and you don't even have to leave the comfort of your own mothers basement ever!
