But also makes more power than ANY previous model GT save the S197 5.0 ... I fail to see what about it is crappy other than the fact you're upset it doesn't have 4 more cylinders?

Also, define "not improving." The cars interior is 100x nicer than the outgoing S197, it drives seconds per lap faster around a track, and every 1/4 video I have seen has it matching, or slightly losing (1-2 tenths) to the S197, but without a doubt out trapping it by 1-2 mph as well. Aside from maybe not like the cosmetics, I really do fail to see why everyone hates this car and views it as a failure...

All mustangs are cool. Even the mid 70's Cobra II's. Everybody defends what they have or are getting! Feel lucky to be living in one of the greatest muscle car era's to date. Have fun, be happy...

****, in my late teens/early twenties a 185 whp 89 mustang lx 5.0 was one of the fastest cars you could buy. Lol

2011 gt compared to my new 2015

Very well said...

+1

To all those who talk about "brand recognition" and "Chevy did it as well..."...

Can you name me what other Ford vehicle looked just like or very close to the s197 mustang ?

(Tumble weed...dead silence...wind...)

When you look in your rear view mirror and you see a S197 coming up on your a$$, you know its a mustang. Not a Fusion, Not a Focus, not a Taurus, not some euro Nissan sports car. It stands out from all the other Ford models and all the other manufacturer models.

Not the 2015! Blends in with several other Ford models as well as the import euro cars. Darn shame

You put two black 5.0's side by side one 2015 and other 2014 guarantee the 2014 will get more love and attention than the 2015 by the average consumer.

The Mustang Source Website is complete trash.

Correct!

Ford fed us bull**** for years on "oh the 50th anniversary this and that and all new and all great"...

Here's a souped up 2 door fusion.

For what it's worth, I'll probably keep recycling the 2014's until either something changes, or I move to a Challenger. With a very strong note of sadness...

You may have to switch out the rear...the fusion one looks too good.

I'd like to see a live axle on a 15. Definitley be interesting.

Yeah? Is that your opinion or fact?

How much does it weigh again? How much power can it handle? How much does it cost to produce? How more complicated is it? How many 2015s have you driven to back up your story. Post your lap times when you get a chance.

It's pretty much fact that an IRS is better in every way than a SRA, the only place that the SRA dominates the IRS is when launching on a drag strip. Everywhere else the IRS is favored.

Favored for what? By whom? Are you telling me your car is uncomfortable to drive? That it doesn't handle well? All I'm saying is unless you drive on a track you will never be in that "zone" were the IRS really shines. Or is forum full of F1 drivers.

Have you not read a single review where they state the S550 is exponentially better daily driving around town with the IRS? Just because something is "better' doesnt mean what its being compared to has to be "bad."

Also, i do drive on a track quite regularly, and i would love an IRS. That being said, the current S197 does a fantastic job with its live axle... but IRS would still be better.

So what's exponentially better than fantastic?
Anyway not trying to piss anyone off. I'm not a track guy. My mustang performes beautifully for what I want it to do. Cameros have had IRS for years but we all still bought Mustangs which is what its really all about. I'll drive my primitive car into the ground before I let motortrend tell me what to buy.

And as I keep saying, the 2015 indeed drives like a sedan...like a BMW or an Audi...

Sorry, I'll go back to the SRA and have far more fun.

Simple solution for ppl on here. Test drive BOTH for YOURSELF and see which one YOU like better. Great thing here is that we have all these choices. Right now one can find cherry garage queen 11-14s and I bet there are still leftover 14s out there new at heavily discounted prices. 14 vs 15, personal choice. If somoene likes the 15 better than the 14, doesn't mean the police are going to come tow your S197 away lol.

Don't get me wrong I wag my Stang's rear end and it brings a smile to my face every time but fact is IRS is better at cornering for a myriad of reasons. Is it heavier yeah sure it is. But the weight of the mustang isn't a 100% the fault of the new IRS. Look at the corvette. Its damn near 500-600lbs lighter than the new mustang and it has IRS.

As for goose I don't know why he's so hard up for the mustang's SRA. I never said the SRA is bad. It's just not as good on a road way when doing corners that have uneven surface. I guess I hurt his feelings and that's why he's acting like a little biitch.

Lol seems like any statement is gonna be taken like we're forcing this guy to accept. Shiit.

Motor Trend ain't telling you to buy shiit. It's their report and test. You're very trigger happy it seems. It's either you're happy or you're defensive over things that really doesn't affect you. Drive your primitive car to the ground? It's your damn car do whatever you want. Don't read motor trend if you think they're trying to force you to do anything. Lmao

Yeah I get it. So if you had IRS you carve corners like a regional manager? Apparently you think IRS is better in every way but a straight line...your words... But you set up a SRA for road racing and autocross. you're just reinforcing that you can have fun and still drive a relic SRA mustang.
