Pony Projection Mod

One of my favorite things about my 2015 is the pony that projects out of the rear view mirrors when you lock and unlock your car. I was thinking a cool mod would be to install a small switch or something under the dashboard so that you can turn on the projection at will. For example when you pull up next to a Camaro at night, it would be cool to be able to turn the projection on to show off. I am planning to attempt this. What does everybody think?

They only come with the premium package. That would be a cool option to flip a switch and have them illuminate. I have them on my 14GT. I saw that AM has those colored puddle lamps, what I thought would be really cool is to find some type of insert to have them illuminate a different color. That or find out the bulb size and replace it with a colored LED replacement. Anyone know what size the bulb is?

These are not designed to be run for extended periods of time. They get extremely hot (they have large heat sinks attached to the back of them but it doesn't help). They will eventually fail if you attempt this IMO.

Yes, it does light up-- it is part of the ambient lighting.

It's called the "convenience package" has heated mirrors, puddle lamps and I'm sure a couple other things. You can add these to your car. The wiring is in the door already.

Rico3in1: Pretty sure you should have those. I looked at my sticker and there is no other mention of an option except "premium".
