not by any dealer worth going to.....I always suggest talking to your dealer and developing a relationship with them

If you read the way a warranty is written, then technically, any change that is done to a vehicle that is not OEM, or OEM spec can void a warranty. The manufacturer puts this in to protect themself from any legal issues.

However, many dealerships will "work with you" on certain modifications.

Always best to clear with your dealership when in doubt.

And, if you first don't succeed, then try, try again!

There have been several reported posts here at ME where an owner went to his/her local dealership, and they said "no, it will affect the warranty". They then went to another dealership who "worked with them".

In any event, replacing an exhaust component will void the warranty on the exhaust, but the remainder of the cars warranty should not be effected....this is what you want to go after.

I bought my car from a small dealer and make it a point to buy my oil filters from them and say hello to the sales dept every time. When I needed a new axle to replace a bent one the service person said I'm in for an uphill battle as Ford would think I hit a pot hole. I went to my sales person and she said "I see you here all the time. They just need to know how to write it up" the next day I had my new axle.

I will say again, the AB's should not void any wtty besides the exhaust that you replaced and the valiance if it melts but getting a feel for your dealer is a good idea. Also remember the wtty is from Ford not the selling dealer, if you don't like the answer from the 1st dealer try somewhere else.

Bucko types faster than Mud.....

Aftermarket mods can only affect warranty for those parts.
i.e. Axle backs can't ruin your alternator.
Even adding FRPP parts to your car can affect components affected by that part.

Yeah, that's not exactly right. Let's say you installed an alarm system in the car and then had a fire in the engine bay that started at the battery. If the electrical problem was caused by a bad install of the alarm, you're out of luck on warranty. Another example: you install an aftermarket set of wheels and tires that are not OEM or recommended for the car, and then the suspension fails....voiding the warranty is all case-by-case specific. There is no one thing that will void your warranty. Hell, you can replace the engine, and that won't necessarily void the warranty for the convertible top. It really all depends on the case. You're always taking a chance when is falling anything not OEM and not installed by an authorized Ford technician. Cheers.

Nothing will void your warranty! that is a old wives tale. if something goes wrong the company has to prove that what ever you added caused it. I have dealt with this many times and I have never had anything void a warranty. like on my 2010 gt added all kinds of modds dynoed at 618 RWHP i had a cylinder go and was covered by warranty. rings were bad.
