The stock 235/50/18's are a 420 treadwear. These are a 300. They're quite a bit softer than the stock tires, but not nearly as soft as a true drag radial....thise are usually 100.

Wear is entirely dependent on the driver.....I'm not expecting super high mileage. lol

Somebody had asked about the mounted weight of these tires and wheels.

At 50 psi they are 62.4 lbs.

The weight of the stock wheels and tires are 58.4 lbs, so these are a few lbs heavier.

I considered putting a 496 in my Impala if anything ever happened to the original engine. A guy I know built one of his 67 Chevelle, at 9.8 compression it made 615hp, all motor, no power adders...

Yeah, this is 8.5:1. Put it together specifically as a turbo motor. It's used to be an 11:1 nitrous motor.

A small delivery of car porn.... ;-)

Yea, a friend drag raced a nitrous challenger, but after the third backfire, he converted over to a turbo. I tried to tell him, but he found out the hard way...
Never cared for nitrous, I prefer the air power adders over the fuel power adders...
Which I was raised with Porsches, so I've seen what boost does, to small engines, makes them monsters...

It's SO much more reliable and SO much less drama at the track with the turbo vs the nitrous. Make a hit, check a plug, shove it back in, look at the data, make another hit.

No messin' with the bottles, no spending $200 on fuel and nitrous, no blowin' the hood off the car......it's so much more enjoyable with the turbo. Now, it definitely doesn't leave as hard as a nitrous car, but it more than makes it up on the big end.

Agreed, which I'm more into corners than strait lines, but I do go to drag races more often. And look at all the drag cars and most of the nitrous guys are out of juice by the end of the night. But the boost keeps on flowing. Which I could never justify a power adder that I would have to constantly put money into. I've driven cars with all three power adders, and nitrous is great until it's gone. The disappointment is ridiculous...

On the truck, I run both turbo and 2 kits. The turbo is really too big (88mm) for the motor and with the limited RPM's of a diesel it's tough to get on top of a big single charger with a bog turbine housing. I use the small kit just to spool up the turbo on the line and I bring in the 2nd kit about 2.2 seconds out.

On turbo alone the truck does 1083 hp to the tires and on both kits it does 1551 hp to the tires. It's pretty obnoxious when I let it loose.

If I forget to set the timer on the 2nd kit, the truck just annihilates the tires. Listen to the video, you can hear me bumping the bottle to get on the charger....

This one gives ya a lot better idea....

I normally wouldn't have done that, but I had the track owner in the truck with me. As soon as I felt the tires break I knew it was gonna be a crap pass so I just rode that 4 wheel burnout out to about the 330' mark.

I was cleaning rubber off the sides of the truck from the front tires for 2 days.

At 7200 lbs, with me in the truck, it goes LOW 6's on the 1/8th. Does mid-9's on the 1/4. Best 60' it's ever done has been a 1.45, but it normally does 1.53 - 1.55 without knocking the tires off.

Oh yeah! 2WD is useless on it. It'll just sit there and burn the tires off even on the drag radials. You can literally be going down the road at 80 MPH in 2wd, smash on it, and it feels like the truck noses over....look back and it's nothing but white smoke.

May just be the lighting. My windows aren't tinted at all, other than the factory stuff.

Factory may be "green" tint? Nice pony. I did 18" american racing rims for lighter weight, wide 20's are heavier. I run through the twisty's and wanted more sidewall, so I did 275/40/18's Yokohama S-Drives. Watch for hydroplaning.
