Cool A small delivery of car porn.... ;-)

Made the UPS guy earn his keep yesterday....

My wheels, tires, rear deck lid panel and intake showed up yesterday. Gotta wait for the tire pressure sensors to get here on Monday so I can get 'em mounted.

The wheels are 26 lbs. They're 20x10 Downforce Graphites. When I out them on I'll weigh the stock wheels and tires vs these to see if there is an actual mounted difference. Don't forget though.....where the weight is on the wheel is actually more important than just the total weight of it.

I gotta wait until Monday to get them mounted and balanced; waiting on the the tire pressure sensors.

No more stupid badges.....

Swapped with rear deck lid panel with a blank from Ford Racing.

Now, if you're thinking of ordering this panel, there is a blemish in it. Where the badge would have gone, there is a spot where they spot welded it to the panels backer and it does show. Looks like a dime sized fish eye.

I wish someone could use a graphic design program to integrate an 11-14 face onto a 2015 *** and side. That would be an interesting rendering.

We'll see. The tires are about 1.5" wider each and the treadwear drops from a 420 to 300. They'll certainly do better than those passenger tires disguised as performance tires.

They're no drag radial, but they'll serve the intent I have for them. Eventually, I'll get a set of radials for playing at the track, but this is my daily.....I have other toys to beat tires up with.

So are you getting a tune revision for the intake then hopping back on the dyno?

I'm on the 3rd revision right now, this one includes the change for the intake. The last tune was good, but it seemed like there was a hole in the timing from 4000 - 4500 RPM's. The low end is much improved and it's holding good on the top end from the data logs. AFR's, timing, and torque management all look really good from what I can do with it on the street. Once I strap it back down it should just need some final adjustments that you can only see in a controlled environment.

The biggest thing I was seeing in the logs was a delay in power at initial tip-in. It was taking a full second before the car would actually give you full power when you smashed on it. That's a big chunk of time when you're making a hit. The other thing was the knock sensors were going crazy....WAY over-compensating. When it only needed .5 - 2 degrees of ******, it was calling on 4-9 degrees. That KILLS power. It's looking really solid there now, except the 4000 - 4500 range. I gotta do some more logging and send it off to Paul.

Also, some folks asked about the intake temp difference between stock and a JLT.... I'm seeing 3-6 degrees difference between ambient and intake temp.

Warmer. 3 - 6 degrees warmer than ambient temps. But, I need to look back at the logs and see what it was showing with the stock intake. Those numbers really aren't far off from normal. You always get some heat soak in the plumbing, manifolds, etc.

Lemme look real quick.....

Hmm....for some reason I don't have intake temps being logged. I could have sworn I had that PID selected.

I have ambient logging, but not intake temps.

If someone with a stock intake can use their gauge mode on the dash and compare it to the temp reading in the car, it'll work too. Just need to see a general difference in temp.

Okay, so they're sitting pretty much the same temp wise. Not a huge difference in intake temp between the stock one and the JLT.

I was debating whether or not to go wider on the back, but ultimately this is my daily and I want to be able to rotate the tires and I want the handling balanced. These things already have a tendency to push in turns, so I didn't want to aggravate that with wider rear tires.

I may pick up another set of wheels and put some wider DR's on those, but that probably won't happen until I do the supercharger on it. This should be fine at the current power level....going 1.5" wider on each tire and going from a 420 tread wear to a 300 should make a huge improvement in hook when I do decide to scratch off a little at the track.

They just look too small and the tire sidewall looks too tall on this car. They'd be okay on a sedan, but 18's just don't look right on this body. That and the profile of the tire is too rounded....needs to be more squared off at the shoulder. I almost always buy my vehicles with the base wheels.....I always change them anyways.

I should be able to get these mounted and balanced today when the TPMS sensors get here, but I won't be able to put them on the car today.......friggin' lug nuts got left out of the order.

Test fit them today before bringing the wheels and tires to get mounted / balanced. The TPMS sensor got here today so I dropped everything off to get done. I wont have the lug nuts until Weds though, so putting them on the car will have to wait until then.

These things are gonna look friggin' wicked when everything goes on....

Got about 3/4" from the wheel to the shock body. These are the 10" wide wheels...

Lots of room in the back. You could easily put an 11" wide wheel back there.

Beautiful!!!. I am trying to decide what looks best on a kona blue convertible. Any suggestions. Chrome, black. I like some of the black with machined front but it's hard to tell in pictures.

I'm not a big fan of chrome, so I might be a little biased. I even ordered black 5.0 badges for the car and painted them body colored so they'd blend in, being that Ford loves to put those stupid alignment holes everywhere a badge goes.

On dark colored cars, machined aluminum looks good, but the Kona Blue isn't that dark. I'd probably go with dark wheels on it. These aren't black though, they're dark matte grey. I thought the black would be too strong for this color, so I did the graphite instead of black.

Just google some pictures of the car in your color and look at those to give ya better idea.

https://www.google.com/search?q=kona...vid=1911489291

Edit: Sorry, I was thinking the Grabber Blue, not the Kona Blue.
