Best Spring Option and Install

Ordered a 15 GT Premium pkg and it should be in any day now and I want to install 1" lowering springs. I have been looking at the Steeda springs and have aquestion. Which one will maintain as close to stock ride as far as comfort "Linear or Progressive" rate? And what about the new light weight springs they now offer?

Also how hard are they really to install without a shop and lift? Anyone done this on jack stands and how bad was it?

thanks,

RoboStang and I did his (2012) springs/shocks/strut mounts and a couple of other bits No lift but air tools 2 older guys with a clue (kinda) in 6-8 hrs. On the 2011-14's the strut mounts have a tendency to fall apart and are cheap. I'll suggest replacing yours but don't know about the 15's but I prefer to do everything at once.

Here is a breakdown of our Springs:

Steeda Mustang Sport Springs - Linear (2015 GT/V6/EcoBoost): Original set of springs we released, linear, 1" drop all around, 20% increase in spring rate over PP springs.

Steeda Mustang Sport Springs - Progressive (2015 GT/V6/EcoBoost): Second set of springs we released, progressive, 1.125" drop in front and 1" drop out back, 10% stiffer than the PP springs at curb and provide a 40% increase in roll stiffness over the PP springs when you lean into it and the spring compresses.

Steeda Mustang Ultralite Springs - Linear (2015 GT/V6/EcoBoost): Third set of springs we released, linear, 1.125" drop in front and 1" drop out back, 20% increase in spring rate over PP springs, weighs 10% less.

If you're DD'ing the car with little to no track use, go with the progressives.

Several customers have told us the ride quality is better than stock. We haven't experienced any bounciness whatsoever!

So aside from the improved stance and handling characteristics when you really push the car, you'll also receive a comfortable ride quality for daily driving.

Best Regards,

TJ

Thanks for the info, I ordered the "Progressive" rate springs for my car and hope to have them in a couple days. Problem is local shops want $400-$500 to install plus alignment so it looks like I will be doing this. I can work on cars but have never fooled with springs and on jack stands.

I am told the 2015 is a little harder than the other models?? Has anyone done the 15 swap themselves and just how hard was it?

thanks,

Thanks Steeda,

This was a lot of help and it looks like maybe I should add a couple more items while changing my springs since I will be dropping the cradle. Springs are on backorder so I will call and talk with you tomorrow about these if I am already there installing springs?
