Borla ATAK or Flowmaster Outlaw catback?

Looking at both of these. The Flowmaster is about 200 less, and looks like it ight weigh a little less so lleaning towards that one. I watched some sound clips of both on youtube and they both sound similar. Any opinions?

Borlas will be a great deal louder than outlaws. And if you the type that hates drone then the outlaws aren't for you. Flowmasters are known to drone, but they still are great mufflers. I've have them on 3 of my vehicles and getting ready to put them on #4.

It seems the outlaws are louder than the borlas actually. I watched a video on both and the outlaws seemed quite a bit louder. They also look lighter

Ataks are loud I promise you. I had them on my 12 and I am debating on them for my 15. They're loud but have such a nice, aggressive tone to them. They are also stainless, so that's one thing to consider vs the outlaws.

I have the outlaws on my new 5.0 I had the borlas on my previous one and there not as loud but the outlaw will have more drone. But I like the outlaws better because I like the little drone they have.

So you want loud and light weight. Why not just straight pipe it? Get the muffler out of the equation. Makes it lighter and you still get loud sound. Plus cheaper than both mufflers.

Why would the flow masters rust anymore than the borlas?

Not all stainless is created equal. Some stainless will rust. There is a reason they paint the mufflers on outlaws. Look at a used set sometime. This is why I say you get what you pay for.

These are "used" that I simply polished before placing on my car. They still look great about 4k miles rain or shine. I just wipe them down from time to time.

Here are some used outlaws. Granted they look beat up but look at the rusty welds and how the tips rusted where they were scratched

I put the Ataks on my 15, love them but they are indeed very loud.

Take some more time listening to youtube variations keeping in mind that practically no exhaust system is identical with resonators, pipe size, custom tunes to automatic shift points, ect..
BORLA would be my natural choice without doing tons of research.

They get louder once they burn all the fiberglass out. But it takes some time. Most people don't notice it. Or at least that's what happens with glasspacks.

Went with Borla S types on my 15, perfect, not overly loud and zero drone.
