Ran a DYNO today...

Got 347. For my Gibson exhaust and Airaid Cold Air intake, I figured I would have done better than that. What do y'all think? I will post the YouTube video soon.

Many many factors. But on the surface it sounds low. What type of dyno?

Isn't that what they dyno stock? Nothing you added really adds power

Seems low but hard to say, didn't happen to do a dyno before I don't imagine? For some reason I think some people were getting around 360 stock? Assuming no tune?

Well the heat and humidity probably didn't help a whole lot

Yea lot of factors can impact on results. Butt dyno feel better? Sometimes that's all that matters.

Hey Matador,

I wouldn't worry about the numbers too much just yet as there are so many factors that come in to play.

What kind of Dyno was this on? Is your can an Auto or Manual?

That's almost exactly a 20% powertrain loss from the crank, that's about right for an automatic. Also if you were not running 93 obtain that probably cost you 10 - 20 hp.

Dyno wasn't calibrated right, most mobile dyno's are crap anyways. They don't take the time to set them up properly

I would say the 85 degrees and almost 80% humidity did not help you out either. Auto's do not loose anymore than manuals today. Low reading dyno as most dyno 370-380 range stock. The Gibson and cai will not add much if any on a dyno. fyi

You are wrong. Even if the loss factor is not as great as 20% from the crank, which is probably up to 5% over a manual, there is still greater loss in automatics. More weight plus more pressure equals greater loss.

Was the dyno pull done in 5th gear, or 4th? Should have been 5th.

If the dyno pull is not done in the gear nearest or at 1:1, then the results will be skewed lower 100% of the time, period.

This is the single biggest error people make when they dyno the 2011+ Mustang, as people are so used to every Mustang since 1984 having a 5-speed manual, and 4th being the 1:1 gear ratio up until the 2011+ Mustang with the 6-speed auto and manual's.

I assumed it was in the highest gear possible. I told the guy it was a six speed auto.

It was my first time to pull ever, so if and when I do it again I will ask more detailed questions. One of the reasons why I love this board. I am learning a lot myself.

You can go to Dynojet Research Inc., Dynojet Dynamometers, Powersports Dynamometers, ATV Dynamometers, Fuel Tuning, Powercommander, Powervision, Jetkits, Widebandcommander, CMD, CMDM, High Performance Dynamometers, Automotive Dynos, Powersports Dynos and find shops that have a dynojet dyno to run your car on, stay away from the portable ones unless you are in a pinch to perform so last minute tunes changes and need to validate.

Go research 2011 up stock dyno numbers. AM back in 2011 put both on the same dyno. The auto made 1 more hp than manual, but manual made 3 more foot pounds. Next...
