All windows were down minutes before STORM!!!! PLEASE READ

I parked my car locked it and wasnt planning on going anywhere until tomorrow....went into the house ate dinner.

Luckily i forgot my laptop in the car and i came out to find both of my windows rolled down completely .

What made it even more scary is that there is a thunderstorm warning in affect and i have been receiving flash flood warnings on my phone for the past 2 hrs.

Confused as to how it happened i went online to do some research and found accrd forum that had people complaining about this issue. Apparently if you hit unlock button and hold it on they key knob...it rolls down all windows so i tested it and it turns out it does roll all windows in my MUSTANG GT premium.

While i might have done it unintentionally (i honestly dont think i did but it is possible) now i am paranoid it will happen again.

Just giving everyone a heads up to be careful and for those that know about it...is there a way to turn off the feature? I think its a dumb feature especially now that i will constantly wonder if all my windows are down when i lock the car and leave it.

I believe there is an option in the menu to turn it off in vehicle settings. Our past few cars have had this so I'm familiar with it, nice for hot days when you want to roll down the windows before you get in.

I'm glad you didn't find your car full of water.

Does the owner's manual mention anything about that? If not, that's really messed up to have that capability.

Nice feature.....idk but I've had more than one fob have a key or other item push and hold buttons on the fob when in my pocket. Simplest explanation is often the most common solution.

That's one feature I had on my 2007 Mazda6 and loved it. One of the things I wished the '13 mustang had. Glad to hear they brought it to the '15s.

This is a standard feature on all new mustangs and on most new models.this is the 2nd Ford I've owned with this feature.
I had to remember to not put my key fob in my front pants pocket if I am near the car.

Ford had it on the 2005 Mustang but took it off subsequent years due to complaints. It is back on for the 2015 model year (so if you tried it on your 2012 as someone mentioned and didn't work it's because it isn't programmed to do it).

You just have to be sure you don't hold the button down too long when locking the car. Or look back and make sure you didn't accidentally trigger it.

I found out on my wife's 2014 MKZ that if I leave the glass roof open or windows down, holding the lock button will close it up too. I was standing in line at a rest stop (lots of people so even the men's had a line) and looked out and noticed the roof and windows were open. Some guy was walking around the car and looking inside - so tried the button push to see and sure enough the glass roof started closing up.

I'll have to try this............can you do this with the FOB in your pocket by accident? I know I sometimes hit the panic button that way. If so, I'll have to be careful of that.

Should work......I have to hit mine twice and hold it down the second time. After about 3 seconds, the windows all go down.....

It has to work man you have to be doing something wrong.

Hit unlock ....the hit unlock again and hold it for 10 seconds and they should go down.

I tried it 4 times and it did it all 4 times. I have not figured out how to make all of them go up though with the key fob yet.

My Maxima had that feature, which is nice on a hot summer day. I always hang my keys when i get home to prevent this from happening.

We do the same here. Lock it up, close garage, always hang up all our keys next to door. If we go anywhere else were going to have to remember this feature.

UPDATE!!!!!

You can turn off the feature in the car settings on the dash where you can change the color of the lights in the interior and access track apps.

I am not sure exactly which menu i went to to get to it but its not that many of them. Try all of them and you will see where you can un check open windows with fob or something like that. I will look through it again when i get in the car and try to edit this post.
