That's how I normally was. But with this car, I feel like the slightest change in wind direction will hurt the paint!

Yeah they do look good with stripes. I thought about a matte black or dark red stripe for mine. But I'm not serious enough to do it right now. Just got some Sport Line springs, and a resonator delete h pipe yesterday. So I'm gonna work on the underage...errrr undercarriage (thanks Guard for catching that) first lol

The owners manual will say for sure, but I think it's 5K miles. You do have a oil life meter in the ecu. You can take a look and it'll tell you by percentage I believe...

Awesome thanks well I considered lowering my mustang 2 inches than getting some larger wheels so no gap is left but I looked under my X pipe is down low to the ground it'll be a problem driving around bumps haha

I'm sure there are lots of "oil change when?" threads here, and not to derail this thread.......but I always change the oil on a new car at 1,000 miles, then at 5,000 miles and every 5,000 after that. Easy to remember and time to rotate the tires as well.
I do think that with the new oil formulas they have now that the old "change oil every 3,000 miles" is a little bit of overkill.

Derail away! Lol

But I agree. 5K is what ford recommends for the GT's; and even the ecoboost I rented for a few months (for work) warned me when the oil life was close to 0%; which was at 5K miles.

Wrong, it's 10,000 miles or up to one year. Per the owners manual on page #392.

Well if we are getting technical the oil life is determined by how the car is driven (intelligent oil life). So it can be anywhere from 5-10k. My car likes to tell me to change it about 7500 based on my driving.

I changed oil at 2200 miles. The second change was at 4500 miles. I go every 6 months at this point since I have only put 6900 miles on my car in the year since I bought it new.

Yeah it does really depend on your driving style. Heck you can send a sample of your oil out to see how it's quality is. Not very expensive, and it can give you piece of mind too. But as long as a good quality full synthetic is being used, once every year is definitely doable.
