If you can get your Mustang shinier than this...please let me know how!

We did 1,200 miles in 48 hours and the typical bug splatters, dust and dirt were all over the car when we got home. Washed it last night, then went to work on it this morning.
Before we left, I ordered a new Griot's Garage clay bar, which arrived the day we left, so had to try it. It is VERY sticky, and you have to use lots of lube with it. I used Mother's California Gold Detailing spray........and it took a LOT of crud out of the paint, so I folded it over often. A fresh coat of Collinite 845 was then applied.
Here are the results:

That Wolfgang stuff looks nice.........but it IS expensive! I pay only $17.95 with free shipping and the Collinite lasts for about 25 full body applications from one bottle.....how far does the Wolfgang bottle go?

It's amateur detailing status but I used all meguiars clay bar set, professional mirror glaze show car glaze #7 and hi-tech yellow wax #26 and I don't think my car has ever looked so rich and reflective.

I've used other clay bars, and I will admit I probably kept my Mothers old clay bar too long and used it too many times.......but I am convinced that the GRIOT's Garage clay bar works extremely well. I don't think I'll ever switch to another brand after seeing how much crud it took out and the smoothness of the finish afterward.
Have you ever felt treated soft water on your skin in the shower? Just extra slick, you know? That's the way the paint felt after the work described above.

Not only shinier but way easier and excellent protection

I used to use Zaino products until I discovered this stuff.

Well I left out a few other minor products but the amount of clay I used was the size of a gum ball and damn near still new after I finished. I picked up one of those mitts that are supposed to be the same and let me tell you it worked like a charm. If you were to wash your car really well top to bottom, just bucket and soap traditional method then rinse it off and did another quick rewash then the 2nd time took about as long as it takes to 'clay bar' or 'mitt' the care and it was smooth let me tell you. I know there are better quality clay products out there but honestly I don't know if I'll ever buy clay again after using this thing. I know the big named auto care companies advertise these for around $50 so I never really considered it but, this was about $20 at Advanced Auto Parts and right there so I said wth and bought it. Now it's had about 5 solid cycles and it is still doing the trick, plus if you drop it you can rinse it off and reuse it. Highly recommended.

That waterless wash stuff is pretty cool. I got a bottle of the Meguiars Waterless Wash & Wax Spray bottle a few months back because it was there and why not. It actually works surprisingly well. I mean, if it's a dirty car then it's nonsensical to use it but I've found its a nice bridge between a detail spray and a spray wax(I use the spray wax to freshen up the wax between those real late night, very thorough, in great depth and detail cleaning, protecting, etc., etc., etc. sessions) so the waterless spray in my opinion was work the buy and hell with how sporadic the weather is in OK, I use it more than I've ever used bottles of detail spray.

Anyways, sorry for the extensive banter. Thanks for the compliments on the car, it eats up all my time and money but it won't decide leave me in the middle of the night. Rock on mates \m/
