Thanks! That's what we like to hear...
I'm stoked that you're enjoying the new CAI and cat-back! There's definitely some throttle response, sound and a little bit of performance that can be had bolting those on with no other mods. We've dyno'd cars with and without a cold air intake (no-tune insert left in) installed on the stock tune along with cat-back exhaust on a 5.0L Coyote and you're looking anywhere between 5-10RWHP peak and steady gains of around 3-5RWHP throughout the curve, depending fuel and air quality.
While it may not be huge in terms of actual gains, there's no doubt that the car will feel more peppy, pick up some gas mileage, sound great and add a little throttle response.
The next step would be to take the insert out of your cold air intake and tune for it. You'll instantly notice a huge difference and sizable horsepower and torque gains. On the new 5.0L Coyote platform, your car comes from the factory with wideband air/fuel ratio sensors that allow tuners to monitor the piece that was missing and pushed people towards going to a dyno on 2010-down Mustangs. Now with a little bit of datalogging, you can get a tune that is equivalent and in often cases better than a dyno tune. You can monitor air/fuel ratio, ignition timing, knock, throttle position, rpm, etc. all in real-time on the road and then send those results back to your tuner for tweaks.
We're here to help! You know where to find us if you need any info about how they all work together, but I think the Bama Performance team is a great way to go.
Post pics of her! Or even better, post up a sound clip so we can hear!
