Morning start

Hello All:

Trying to figure out if this is normal as it seems new to me. I have owned my car for for 5 months and lately when I start my car in the morning the RPMs register at a normal 700-800 but then spike to 1500 for a few seconds before dropping back down. Has anyone else experienced this? Normal for these cars? I always run 93 octane and park on a level surface. Seems to happen after the car sits for 8-10 hours. Any help is appreciated.

My 14gt would do that I believe it is normal, I would just give it a second and let the rpms drop back down and settle. My 15gt does a similar thing where in the morning it will shoot up to 1200 or so for a few seconds. I wouldn't worry about it. As long as there is no ticking at startup. Hope that helps.

Completely normal.......I think it has to do with the emissions and keeping the rpm's up a bit at first because the car is running cold and rich.

No ticking or anything. Guess I just didn't notice the increase in RPMs when I first purchased the car. Thanks for the help.
