I met a guy with a 15 GT that had the atak. When I started mine he asked what I did. He said it sounded amazing. When I told him I simply cut off the mufflers and welded pipe in place with stock tips on the end he was floored. Said he wasted $1K. I think he was just being nice.

My advice is to do what I did, get good head phones and look on YouTube and other sites for sound clips. Listen to them over and over find the one that gets YOU revved up and do that. I got my baby a week ago today. Spent the first 72 hours researching exhaust sounds. I found a clip that was for a axle back system but they started it up after taking off the mufflers. As soon as he fired up the car I was like THAT'S WHAT I WANT. Then I just listened to more and more muffler delete clips, some with resonated X or H pipe. Some with stock "suitcase". I felt confident in my decision. Went to a locally owned muffler shop told him what I wanted. 2 hours later I heard him fire it up. EXACTLY THE SOUND I HAD HEARD all those times and it was perfect.

Moral of the story is its YOUR car, YOUR money and YOU have to live with it. Take your time. Do your research and I am confident you will make the best choice for YOU. Now if you will excuse me, all this talk about exhaust notes make me wanna start my car a rap on the throttle a bit!!!!

Yes it's fast, no you can't drive it.

Some states mufflers are required for inspection, like it or not.

We had a 15 GT come in for exhaust. All we did was cut the resonator off and weld an X pipe in. It sounded nice at idle and lower rpms. But got raspy at higher.

Then you'll want an H pipe if you decide to cut the resonator off.

Please consider the Bassani cat back system. They make their exhausts out of the highest quality stainless, their tips look GREAT and stay that way.
The sound is a classic muscle car sound that really opens up under throttle.

Your dealer is trying to play you. They have to prove what ever you add on the car caused an issue.

They can't void your power train warranty because you added a different knob or axle back exhaust.

No they can. The shift knob wasn't ford racing. That's why.

If your really that worried about your warranty though and doing mods wait a few years....... Buy and old car and mod that and daily your new one. I still have warranties on both of my vehicles and they're both modified. Just be smart about what you do.

Nope...just called the dealer to confirm. Shift knobs void your transmission warranty if they are not ford racing. They said the aftermarket knobs are weighted differently and effect the synchro life. I'm sure glad I didn't super glue on like i originally planned to do : / I guess I'll just plasti dip the stock one.

It seems like if you look at the car the wrong way it will void some type of warranty.

One reason I'll never buy a new car. So, I don't have to deal with void warranty BS. Well and there's like only 2 cars I like that are new and somewhat affordable. But hey some people see a warranty as a blessing; I on the hand don't.

Do you have to do a tune when changing the exhaust?

You don't need a tune for an axle back or catback system.
