Cat delete for 2015 GT?

Saw on a few other websites there is a cat delete option for the 2015. I would definitely be interested in this if its a quality product and people are getting good results. Does anyone have any feedback or has anyone done a cat delete on here yet?

Are you talking about a catalytic converter delete?

On the driver side the cat and the manifold are one piece and requires cutting. No thanks.

Ordered mine today. Having a local shop install. Very easy and under 100 for install. If they know anything about a simple cut and weld.

You only have to worry about cat converters if your state smogs, right? Any other concerns with removing the cats?

This is really tempting to be my next mod but yeah the whole inspection thing has me worried. Do you guys know if the cat delete is a bolt on after the cut or if it has to be welded?

Some kits (the mak cat delete I think) come with weld on flanges to make it a bolt on part AFTER cutting the cat off the driver side manifold

Hmmmmmmm...........rather environmentally unfriendly, don't you think? I think that the current cars are made to run well, and clean with all cats in place......and, are the O2 sensors donwstream of the cats? I can't think that they could sniff the exhaust corrrectly after this mod.
Yes, I know that the cats increase back pressure, but please consider the air we all breathe before doing this?....flame suit ON!

Did you just say "consider the air we breath"? Do you own a mustang or a prius? Are you cautioning the people that put superchargers, turbos, etc...? Noooo, you didn't really say that.... hahaha

Well...mustangs don't have to spit out un burned fuel and rotten egg smell every time you mash on the pedal. That has nothing to do with a mustang. It has to do with the owner removing the cats.

I think a good start would be to consider that you're breaking a federal law when tampering with cats.

On a side note...after reading the rules of this forum... I find it ironic that street racing isn't allowed to be talked about, but breaking federal laws like removing cats is fair game.

If you have to go through emissions I would think long and hard about deleting the cats. You open yourself up to a world of problems when you need to pass.

Nope. Cats are required by Federal law. Federal laws supersede any state laws.

Hope the OP keeps those cats he cuts off, as he/she cannot legally sell or trade in a vehicle that had them originally. When you go to trade in a vehicle, you are required to sign a paper that states all Federally required equipment is still on the car. If you sell privately, this same law is in place, even if you sell and have the buyer sign an "as is" clause.

Very large fine if caught, or sell without them.

Good luck.

I've given up trying not to show my complete ignorance on this subject, so: Am I right in assuming that you can order the car without the catalytic converter and you get a certain amount off the price? Is this CAT delete available on all GTs for example? How can the factory sell a car w/o the CATs, if this is in contravention with federal regs?

No, cat deletes are NOT available from the factory. The deletes are aftermarket, and marketed as "off road use only"

OK...first post and into the fire.
2015 GT with Kooks long tubes, off-road pipe (this means catless) and MBRP catback, Airaid CAI, Bama tune - more to come.
There is no right or wrong here, car owner preference. A lot depends in what state you live and if you feel lucky. I live in a state that does not enforce it so cats came off right away. Exhaust noted above sounds phenomenal!!! Car performs awesomely!! If no cats gain me 1hp difference so that when that Camaro pulls up next to me I'm 1 HP stronger....i'm going to do it.
Would I go catless without the headers NO. Its a major PITA to do the long tube install... if you are doing long tubes yank the cats.
