Dude, Same Rattle as 2014?!

Wheel well rattling in the wind sounds exactly like the rattle in my 2014. Starts at 60 MPH and sounds like plastic on metal flapping in the wind. Took the 2014 to 5 dealerships and they were never able to locate the source of the noise. Does anyone else have this issue?

Have someone pace you on the freeway and either have them video that corner of your car, or see if they can tell what is flapping around............just a thought.

I get this sound as well. To me, it almost sounds like it's in the door or fender area. I'd like to know what it is for sure!

So I tightened down my driver's side runner and the sound went away at 60 MPH but still rears its head around 75. Next time I go in for service, I'll be sure to have them tighten it to spec. Just thought I'd pass this along.

Isn't there foam inside the fender area? Open your car door and try to look in the gap behind the front fender.

There's foam, but it feels tight and secure.

That's what it sounds like, but I think it's actually the runner moving in the wind

I think we have the exact same issue. What do you mean by 'runner'?
I'm at 65k and this just became an issue in the last 1000 miles or so. It drives me crazy and I can't track it down.

I also saw this on another forum:

"Open the passenger door and look through the hinge side into the front fender. You should see a black material, which is a hard foam or fiberglass panel that seals the opening. It is a press fit and can become loose, then cause a rattle at speed.

If it's loose, remove the wheel, then the plastic wheel house for access. The press the panel back into place.

Also check the plastic wheel house itself. This is attached with one or two screws and a series of plastic push pins. If these are missing or loose the piece will rattle as well.

Plastic push pins are generally good for one use. Once you remove them, best to replace them."

I'm going to give it a try.

I found the rattle. Now to find a fix...

The place where the a-pillar and the front fender meat is loose. I checked and all the fasteners are on tight, so I'm not sure what has changed...

I bought a paint pen, but I'm not going to paint it until I solve the issue, which I need to do before winter because I don't want any rust.

I also did some ABA testing to make sure I could turn the rattle on and off. It's definitely these two making contact.

Well that's interesting, never even thought to think that could be the source. Good find - the rattling actually subsided for me on its own, but this is great to know. Good luck on a fix!
