My 2015 and my 1997 Cobra...things sure have changed...

My son now owns my 1997 Cobra (only 32,000 miles!!). I built this car from stock with a full Maximum Motorsports Road and Track suspension package (I still like the stance on this package better than anything else I've ever seen --- the car just has the perfect wheel/tire/body relationship) Saleen skirts and spoiler, Cobra R's, Bassani cat backs and lots of underhood chrome. It is beauty in motion. Notice the painted mirrors?

I get to drive it once in a while, and the thing that strikes me every time is.....WOW! you sit close to the dash and the steering wheel.....it's nearly claustrophic compared to the 2015.
Still, that old suspension handles GREAT, and I don't think there is a better sounding car I've ever heard than the Bassani on that old Cobra.
I do think I'll stay with the new one though.....lots of memories in the white one.

Thanks! Lots of views on this thread, but I was wondering if anyone was going to comment!
That MM suspension is not all THAT expensive, and it completely changes the way the car drives, handles, and steers.......it is truly remarkable!

I put in 3.73's and found them to be a really nice balance between performance, and highway rpm's. I had a friend that had a supercharged Cobra with 3.55's.....and I could stay with him all the way through 4th gear.....

When I bought my 00' GT, I thought it was decent. Then I bought my 90' GT, it made my 00' feel like a super car. Then I got my 15' GT, and that makes my 00' feel like it's going to explode going into a corner (exaggerating)...lol

They're all special in their own way, and too sntimental for me to ever want to get rid of. And I'm sure your son appreciated your generosity!

Haha that is the best part. And I may not have been smiling, but got that part. And on a side note, if I was smiling all the time I'm pretty sure my wife would be suspicious of me!
