Launching

I'm trying to figure how to effectively launch these cars it seems like absolutely nothing works. I've tried lauch control with every rpm between 3000-4500 and it just doesn't want to lauch it feels like it just falls on its face everytime. Then I tried it with advanced Trac and everything off and got the same result it just fell on its face. It's not lack of tire either I have 305 Nto5rs. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks guys!

Maybe to much tire. Mine on 255-40 19s chirps about 3 times and I'm gone. Is it real fast if you punch it at 4k in 1st?

Wow...if you are dumping the clutch at 4,000 rpm, your car should easily just be going up in smoke, almost regardless of your axle ratio and/or tires --- are they drag radials or slicks? Are you an experienced drag racer? Are you flooring the throttle at the same time you dump your clutch?
Be aware that the new IRS has a weak link when used for drag racing -- the half shafts. If you are regularly going to be dumping the clutch at high rpm's -- especially with sticky tires, you might consider getting hardened half shafts.

Yeah I've been racing and driving manuals for awhile my 2011 would launch out of the hole like hell. And they are drags radials and yep throttle on the floor 4k clutch dump.

With drag radials, and high rpm launches.............your stock half shafts may have a half life.......especially if you are dumping the clutch at 4K, and then still bogging --- you are over tired for your gear set.

If it did the same with 235s then there may be something wrong. My will spin tires but not just burn them off. I have the 3:31. That's launching at 4k. No bogging though.

If that is the case, then you may very well have something going on with your traction control where the switch and dash shows it to be off, but it is still on...with a 4K launch your 235's should easily haze all the way through first gear.
The torque peak for the 5.0 is way up there at 4,700 rpm, so if you can find a launch that spins the tires slightly and gets you to the torque peak and then to the redline quickly, you should really improve your 60 foot times.

Clutch protection/torque management probably kicking in.

And running a drag radial with the manual is a no no.

A drag radial has no give and hits way to hard when dumping the clutch. Those half shafts will snap like pretzels. You need a slick but even that will be a problem.

The mfrs allowed launch RPM's are 3000 to 4500.
According to a youtube video, Traction control must be ON, because Launch control must use it.(Although I couldn't find that in the owner's manual.)
I would suggest, if OP hasn't done it yet, to try some manual launches and see how that does. As well as compare it to his 2011 GT.
Who knows, there could be a problem with the launch control/traction control feature.

PM one of the admins for the name change. As for the picture. You have to do that on a browser, the app won't work.
