Sync Update

Hey Guys/Gals,

I have a Sync update available this morning, and it's a large file. Just wanted to let others know. I'm installing now.

I wish they did same for the 2013 and 2014 so buggy and no signs of updates fixing it some times just feel like just reaping it all out and putting and aftermarket unit c'mon ford step up and give us something that actually works on this radios so frustrating

How do you know there is one available and how do you get it installed?

I haven't had an opportunity to mess with it too much today, so I can't tell you what the changes are other than what the change log says. To check for an update, log into your My Ford Touch account and follow the prompts.

Sync Update

There was a sync update that added Siri eye and fixed some bugs. I never experienced any bugs but installed the update anyways. About a 500mb download need a 2gig thumb drive. Install is easy as starting your car and letting it idle 20mins while it installs

Go to owner.ford.com if you have it all setup it will show if you have an update there

You can also start driving the car after the install begins so you do not have to idle it for the extended period.

I got pulled over for speeding while installing the update, I forgot and shut off the engine, and everything installed just fine.

Siri Eye

I did the update just the other day and it added Siri Eyes Free...Which allows you to use siri from your iPhone to read and reply to text messages while driving. Works not too bad...And a whole lot better than Ford Sync ... By the way you just have to push and hold the speak button for 3 seconds to use it

To use the new update with an iPhone

Just a reminder that you may have to restart your iPhone to make it work properly with sync. Right after I did the update I pressed the voice button and held it for 3 seconds and all I got was static. After resetting my iPhone it was all good

Tried to do a system check. Said has to have 200 on odometer. I have 2400. Tried to update sync. Failed. Ugh.

Where do you get the update with Siri eye? I have no updates on my Ford Sync page. Or may it's not for the 2013?

The new version is 3.8 I think and it should say if you are up to date on the Sync page. Make sure you are registered on Ford Sync. You can also follow directions on there that show how to check which version you have installed.

Coyote6.. make sure you have registered your car and cell phone number with sync in order to do a vehicle health check. Also make sure nothing is plugged into your ODB port. They also have live chat on there which was a help to me. I got the same " must have 200 miles deal but had 3500 on mine". As far as the update goes make sure you open the folder on your desktop first and drag the items to your USB stick...hope this helps

Interesting. My version of sync is 4.4. Maybe I have the Siri eye functionality already?
