Why is my shifter/ transmission so noisy?

My car only has 600 miles and its making annoying noises everytime i shift. Hard to describe but aounds like metal to metal. Isnt it supposed to be smooth since its a new car? Also no matter how slow i release the clutch or how much throttle i give it most of the time it jerks when shifting its annoying. And at night when its quite i can hear a hhhhhhh sound when in gear its loud enough to hear it.. :/

I think mine does the same thing when shifting.. Mainly 1-3 gears. I hear it when I go reverse and press the clutch. I was told from the dealer it was normal cuz of all the moving parts in a standard car.. But I still made them check it. They didn't find anything wrong. As far as the jerking when shifting.. There's a sweet spot between releasing the clutch and a small amount of gas.

Have the dealer check it, if nothing is wrong with the trans. then I would get a MGW shifter. I did the new mounts(barton) have the trans. mount insert from Whiteline(best investment I made until new shifter), but all issues have gone away since I got the MGW shifter.

Yea new shifter takes care of all this. Its because the stock shifter box is very hollow and the linkage arms also dont help either. An mgw or barton shifter will take care of all the noises. Also royal purple trans fluid or amsoil trans fluid kills that metal on metal feel when shifting 1-3rd gear

Are you good friends with your dealer or is it just A dealer? They should know you by first name if they are your friends.

The Ford Racing and the Shelby shifters are Barton shifters, so I don't think that there would be a warranty issue with putting in a better shifter.

The MGW replaces EVERYTHING and gets rid of the flaccid stock linkage that the others leave in. Its not as bad on the 15s as it was on the 11-14 but its still not optimal.

MGW not Barton for sure, go see my thread from last week. They wont void warranty. Nothing VOIDS a warranty. if a mod causes an issue then it isnt covered

fixed that for ya.

seriously, if you are wise you'll talk to the dealer you want to bring it in for wtty to and see what they say about mods. Legally they have to prove it but the fight can be a challenge. Become friends with them say "hi" to sales and service a shifter should not void wtty but you need to talk with them.

I have same experience. Did new Steeda shifter mount and whiteline trans bushing insert. Much better but still sub par.
