Supercharged v6 vs stock gt?

Which do you prefer and who wins?
Pros and cons of both.

Ones fast and ones super slow. The fat one is also unbelievably cooler, by default the slow one is dumb...
I think that is equally specific in detail.

Pros there both mustangs
Cons full bolt on v6 it's a fast car same parts on a 5.0 an it's nasty fast car
I personally would rather have a stock 5.0 then I full bolt on v6
When people pull up next to a GT 5.0 they know it's fast

In the six months I've had our GT convertible, I've heard numerous times -- something to the effect -- "Wow, that's the 5 OH!".............I don't think that anyone has ever said........"Wow, that's the V6!"......although a really loud supercharger whine might be kind of cool while revving even a V6.

I personally think the 5.0 will be more reliable and less trouble free over the long run. In addition you can always put a supercharger on a 5.0, what are you going to do to the v6 once you think it doesn't have enough HP.

Yesterday I was on a country 2 lane road. When a passing zone finally came, I dropped the hammer and passed two cars in a flash. My wife was impressed, and I said that's why I bought the 5O.

Wouldn't know, never owned a six cylinder and never will. You would spend thousands to say I have it running nearlly as good as a GT before a CAI is installed!!!

I have a vortech on my new edge gt "v1 t-trim" it's loud and very few ppl even know what it is... Most think somethings broken. A few car nuts at gas stations I've run into know right away, but most ppl have no clue

At the end of the day do what you want and dont worry about what other people think. The 5.0 will probable be a lot less headache of potential issues. Me personally I love my V6 but before dropping 6-8 k to supercharge it I would sell and buy a 5.0. But others feel differently.

I still don't understand what bragging rights come with 'My V6 can beat a stock 5.0'. Because 5.0 guys who race are likely modded. But with that said there will always be someone with more money that has a faster car so decide what you want and what makes you happy and go for it. I've yet to have any car enthusiast come up to me and talk s*** because its only a V6. Usually the people who drive old beat up civics or have no clue what there talking about that say dumb comments.

Well said. I waited many years before I could afford the 5.0. I know me, and I know I just wouldn't be happy with anything less.

Especially once the V8 goes the way of the dinosaurs. I read that isn't too many years away.

Did you ever hear the story of one of the Ford engineers, when he went to Europe with one of the engine blocks for the 1 liter three cylinder engine?
He packed it in his carry on........true story!

No! But if someone would have told me, when I was in high school, that one day I would buy a Ford Mustang GT with 435hp and a factory warranty I wouldn't have believed them.

Technology continues to amaze me

_____________

Once the V6 doesn't have enough power, I'll just buy the Less Desirable V8 and run around with my big head, like most of the V8 guys do now.

if I was going to be given one I'd prefer the V8. Reliability, + bonus sound with probably the same HP/MPG

Why in hell would you supercharge a 15+ V6 when the Eco4 is available with a turbo already on it?

With the way that Ford has positioned the V6 right now, the real questions are why would you buy a V6 without leather, navigation, 3.73 gears, Performance Pack, or ANY of the other options available on both of the other engines???
Look Ma.....I got a rental Mustang before it made it to Hertz or Enterprise!!!!

I just looked on the Ford site on "build your own." I was surprised to see that the base price difference for the Mustang between the V6 and the I4 EB is only $1,500. I would think you'd easily get twice that back on trade in later, as people are losing their fear of a few miles on a turbo engine.
The EB (if you keep out of the boost) also gets 5 mpg better in town and 1 better on the highway......on premium fuel though.

Thing is... there is this thing called money. Money can be exchanged for goods and services. A Supercharger falls under the former.

I have a v6 and it crossed my mind. but 5k pulse the cost of the car, and all the bolt on's needed to accept all the horsepower increase. you could of just bought a 5.0. But a super charged v6 is also cool.
