Which exhaust to get

Hey guys I recently got a 2015 GT a month ago and I'm new to this forum. I wanted to know what exhaust y'all think sounds the best. My original plan was to go with the roush axle back but then I heard the roush axle back paired with the ford racing X-pipe and wanted those. I checked some videos online but everyone seems to be using a different type of mic so it sounds different if any of you have this set up could you send me a video. Then just last night I heard the MBRP street and race catback (street sounded louder to me) and wanted that since it sounded nice had kind of a nice crackle and popping sound to it and it's also cheaper. Any insight is appreciated thanks! Click image for larger version

Which exhaust to get

2 co workers of mine put flowmatser 40's axel back. And they cut the resonator out. Shopped charged them 370 for everything.

It sounded mean too. Quiet when cruising but really woke up when they put there foot down with no drone either.

I've had both the Roush and MBRP's exhaust and Roush is by far way louder. You get more popping with Roush as well with an Xpipe.

American racing headers makes some good stuff that you car custom order to your specs for diameter. I wrote a review with some pics if you scroll down the threads a bit in the 2015 GT section.

I have yet to hear a Magnaflow I did not like. And quality is top notch and fully stainless too.

Ford Racing X pipe and Ford Racing Touring Axle back by Borla on my ride. I have a 2015 convertible, so this is plenty loud enough for me. Borla life time warranty, and their straight through technology sold me.

BORLA ATAK Axle back

I have a BORLA ATAK axle back and I love it! Its loud when you get on it, but cruising it has no drone. The product is a "work of Art" almost pretty enough to hang on a wall - superior craftsmanship!

Ok I confess. I couldn't wait to unbox my Borlas. I too was impressed by the workmanship. And I do love how they sound!

After looking into all of these I think I'm going to go with the roush axle back and ford racing X pipes it sounds amazing and once you step on the gas it screams. Exactly what I'm looking for. The other ones were great options too but this one just stood out the most to me

Hey Ali - Received and replied to your PM's and it's sounding like you're on the right track here. I don't get a pat on the back or a "Job well done" for suggesting the Roush Axle-Back but it's hands down my favorite system for the 2015 (11-14 too) and the customer comments and reviews really speak for themselves:

Ali just be careful with the Roush exhaust I've had 2 sets blow out on mine and a 3rd on my friends. Not sure if it's a design flaw or not but I've witnessed 3 different ones blow out. Granted I loved my Roush exhaust and still miss it.

Somebody mentioned "Borla straight thru technology" or something... that's not new or specific to Borla. The Magnaflows are straight through too, so are Bassanni, Dynomax and even the cheap $20 Summit turbo mufflers.

Sounds like I am bashing on Borla, I am not... except the price. Yes the quality is very good but they are GROSSLY overpriced vs some of the other fully stainless USA made options out there.

I mentioned Borla. Their straight through "technology" is vastly different than the other manufacturers. Yes they are expensive, but they are warranted for 1,000,000 miles. (I do not have a dog in this hunt btw)

Understood but I guarantee there is no HP difference between the Borlas and the Magnaflows. Nor will the Magnaflows corrode any faster than the Borlas. Maybe that warranty would be good if something got messed up internally over time but I dunno.

Granted, if you buy Borla you are definitely buying top of the line... but still way way overpriced. IMO.

Hey, we could argue all day about the price. LOL! At my age (60) I've learned you get what you pay for. Ford Racing chose Borla, so I bought Ford Racing Touring. I have to say, I love the sound, and the engine is happy, the mileage it is better, it's all good!

I've been doing my research and I'm going for the Magnaflow Competition Catback for a couple of reasons...

1) their fitment is usually spot on so makes life easier to ship to me here in the UK
2) it's the only setup I've heard which I personally really get excited about. I don't want a really raspy sound, like the flowmaster thunder, more deep burbling when idle and that Magnaflow pitch through the revs. I also like the drone on my cars so the competition should suit perfectly.

Go for what you want, ultimately it's there to put a smile on your face! Best of luck.

Drone gets old fast on the highway, real fast. I had a 91 Fox with Flowmaster 40s that droned like a mother****er. I liked it at first, then I started to hear ringing in my ears after real long road trips. One day I got out of the car and had trouble having a conversation with someone because I had to turn the music up so loud to cancel out the drone of the car. I ordered a set of high flow cats and Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers the very next day.

Honestly Borlas price is well worth it. For the warranty alone. I've warrantied two exhausts from them and it saved me hundreds of dollars. The first pair was because of the long rocket tips on the 13 model. When they redesigned the tips for the 13 the warrantied my and even let me keep the old one. I ended up selling it for like $500 bucks. Borla is the only way to go.

Luckily I do 4K miles a year of which 90% is B roads and country driving here in the UK. No drone - no fun!

Honestly. They're good, but you can't beat the frpp sport exhaust either frpp x pipe. It's gonna cost you more but Borla is a top notch organization and if anything goes wrong with the exhaust they'll warranty it.

Borlas are overpriced as far as I'm concerned. They raised their price from about $600 to $750 in a period of about a year. Magnaflow isn't that far behind them though. So I guess you're paying for the more expensive 304 stn stl by Borla vs the 409 stn stl by Magnaflow.

If you're keeping the resonators get the Borla attack. If your using the frpp x pipe, get the s type and the Borla frpp sport. The Borla frpp sport is very tame with the stock resonators in. It's actually still pretty tame with the frpp x pipe. All of the 15 exhausts are quieter than their comparable 11-14 exhausts. I would recommend going one step louder than you normally would and I think you'll be happy.
