Resonator delete pipes with stock mufflers?

Anyone using an x or h resonator delete pipe with stock mufflers? I've read some reviews, but I'd like some more in depth thoughts and experiences. Thanks in advance.

The stock exhaust sounds so bad. Installed my frpp x pipe first and it sounded awful. I got some frpp sports and now it sounds amazing.

I installed my h pipe one day and borla s type axle back the next. Running just the h pipe is definitely an improvement over stock but mcturd is right it doesn't sound great. if your looking for a cheaper solution and you don't have to worry about state inspections I'd consider a muffler delete, I've seen a bunch of people on here say it sounds great

Resonator delete pipes with stock mufflers?

Installed an X pipe on one. It was raspy. Sounded alright at an idle that's about it. In my opinion.

Pick your poison.

Thanks for the input, guys! I was thinking about the Pypes muffler delete catback, but think it might be too much when deleting the resonator later on. What do you guys think?

I put a CJ PP o/r h pipe in mine. Didn't like the sound, so I ordered an Outlaws axle back kit the next day. Now it's super loud, but that's what I wanted.

Well, I went ahead and ordered the CJ h pipe last night. It may not sound the best with the stock mufflers, but I have to have something. I can barely hear my car! Later on, I'm thinking about adding the RTR street axle back.

I had the rtr exhaust for my 14gt and loved it. It was on the quite side but it was enjoyable.

Yeah, I don't need obnoxious. Just want to know there's a V8 under the hood lol. I love the looks of the RTR setup in black.

I think my car sounded like a stockish 11-14 by with the cjpp h pipe and stock mufflers. Definitely a tad louder, but wasn't loud enough for me lol you should be happy with it for now.

Yeah, this is a temporary fix until I decide on which axle back I wanna get. At least with the h-pipe, I should be able to hear it.

The RTR axle backs are a good choice. I've got a buddy who has them, and they're quiet until he gets on it. And even then it's got good interior and exterior sound, with out making peoples eardrums bleed.

Ford Racing X-pipe. I thought the sound improvement was good. There was performance gain too.

I have since replaced the stock mufflers with FR Touring mufflers. Love the sound! I have a convertible so the sound is louder inside the car.

I installed the Ford Racing x-pipe with stock mufflers...it increases the sound and burble some, but don't expect NASCAR sound. I'm driving the car with this setup for a few months before I look at different mufflers...I want to hear the car in various phases of my driving before selecting new mufflers. Who knows, maybe I'll leave it as it is...I'll post a before and after video later today.

Ugh, my phone won't let me watch them. Guess I'll have to wait until I can get on a pc.

Weight savings is 8 pounds...old resonator weighed 15 pounds and Ford Racing x-pipe weighed 7 pounds.

That's what I've been seeing. Weight reduction is a plus. Can't wait to get my h-pipe. Should arrive Tuesday.

X will give you more rasp and a couple more hp. H will help keep rasp in check.

Wait until you pull the stock mufflers off. They weigh a ton.

I can second this. I thought I would store the stock mufflers above my garage, access via a ladder. I was shocked how heavy they were!

Got my h-pipe installed. Ok, now my car sounds like it has a V8! Subtle and not too much louder, but definitely an improvement in sound! Now, about an axle back...
