"Thump" sound from rear?

Ok, guys, I hear a thump sound coming from the rear of my car during gear changes. Mostly shifting to 2nd and 3rd, sometimes 4th. Kinda sounds like something moving around in the trunk, but there's nothing back there that would do this. Is this just the IRS? It's not too loud, but noticeable.

Could it be the emergency tire inflation kit below the trunk floor/carpet?

Hmmm. Maybe, but shouldn't that be secured? I'll have to check.

Checked the inflation kit and it's nice and snug.

I have the same experience. Happens when I push in the clutch, like there's some slack in the differential

Read about this a couple years ago right before the car (2015)went to market. Haven't seen anything since. until now.

I'll have to see what the dealer says.

Could be the two piece driveshaft that ford so graciously gave us with the cars. Sometimes when I don't shift as smoothly as I could I hear a small clunking type noise.

In my case, it seems to subside a little after warm up, but I could be mistaken. Theres also some roughness going into gear at times. I think some people refer to it as "notchy."

My car still has less than 400 miles on it so maybe it'll subside a little.
