Look what I got!

Original Roush axle back from a new Roush RS2. Owner said he took them off shortly after purchasing the car and replace them with a Gibson 3" system. Got them for $400! I did have to drive 8 hours round trip, but it is well worth it. Got a killer price on the axle back and seat time in my new Stang. Just can't beat that!

Wow that's a great find. What was that guy thinking putting a Gibson setup on his car over that?

Right!!! His sounded good, but no way I would have deflowered an original Roush like that. He basically wanted a bigger exhaust.

One thing I regretted about getting rid of my '12 was I had just got the GT500 quad exhaust put on. I shall have quad tips again! Only problem is mine is a PP. The rear bumper is all one piece and all painted. I'm gonna run it as single tips for now. I can either block off the inside tips or even run a small turn down tip behind the bumper. I'm curious as to how that would sound. I'll slowly gather parts to run the quads straight out in the meantime.

Good job, that's a nice snag. It's good you didn't wait to see if Santa was gonna bring you an exhaust, because he'll probably only bring you socks or a toilet brush. Nice being your own Santa, isn't it?

Hahaha, yup! Best Santa there is lol. I saw his ad on Craigslist and couldn't believe it. I had been drooling over the Roush quads since I saw the new Roush's in person. He had it listed for $600. I contacted him and asked what the bottom dollar was since I would have to drive so far. I was floored when he said $400. Cheapest I've seen this is $1000. No way was I gonna let this slip through my fingers!

Here's how dirty my car got making the trip. Had to wash it immediately after getting home, even though more rain was coming. 😁

You can also find the Roush axle back online for about $550...not sure about $1,000...that's way too high

This is the quad axle back, not the standard Roush.

Got the Roush axle back installed this morning. Had to run single tips. I'm still going to try to find some type of turndown for the inner tips, but there isn't much room so I may be sol. Fitment is really good and didn't require the extra included hanger bracket. The sound is quiet in the cabin with zero drone. The exhaust note is a higher pitch, even with the h-pipe. I'll try to get a video up so you guys can hear it. Here's a pic of how it looks from behind.

Looks great. The S550s are growing on me a little but I still like the S197 much better. Ones like yours are bringing me around tho. Definitely get some sort of turndown on there so you don't have hot exhaust going right onto the urethane tho, that's not going to be good for it.

The inner tips aren't there. The block off plates are installed. I also plan on having the tips powder coated gloss black. Should look killer!

Excuse my ignorance, but what's the difference with the quad vs dual tip? Especially a blocked off quad which is now dual. Not being an ***, i seriously don't get it and have never heard them side by side.

Quad is basically dual tip. 2 tips per muffler. The new Roush Mustangs come with quad exhaust. The inner tips are blocked off, but the tips are there. You have the option of removing the block off plates for more flow and sound.
I will eventually run all 4 tips, but have to replace my bumper first. I wanted the exhaust in place, so all that's left is to swap the bumper. I was hoping there would be enough room to run turndowns on the inner outlets, but it's pretty tight. I still think turndowns could fit, but they'd have to be custom made as I haven't found anything readily available as of yet.

Got the CJ Pony Parts resonator delete h-pipe. It was on sale, and still may be, for $83.99. Best price I could find. It isn't stainless steel and I'm ok with that.

If its not stainless just do a quick prep on it and hit it with some high temp exhaust paint and it should last a long time seeing as its just a pipe with no real crevices for water to sit in which is what usually kills non stainless exhaust parts.

They sound nice! I've been listening to a lot of different clips of different pipes and to me so many of them sound too raspy. Yours sound a little more mellow, they sound good! Good find!

Thanks! I really like the sound. Gonna check tomorrow on some custom turndowns for the inner outlets. I'm thinking it'll be a unique sound with the outer outlets straight out and the inners down. Good thing is I can block the inners off whenever I wanna tone things down.

Got the turndowns made today. They really woke up my car! This thing makes some noise now! Cool thimg is I can block them off if I want it quiet. They are really stealth too. They are barely visible. Check out the pics. I'll get a video up soon.

Looks good to me, you're not blasting exhaust into the bumper and you can't see the turndowns unless you bent down and really looked for them-

It works until I can swap bumpers, which may be awhile.
