Tires gone wide!!!

My rims finally came! 13 weeks later... but now that I'm looking at them worth the wait. Have to thank mod bargains for giving me a fantastic deal and getting the rims made for me. They also mounted and balanced the tires and included a full set of lug nuts for no charge.

The rims are forgestar f14s 20inch rims with 275/35 and 315/35 nitto invo tires. Had to get custom rims to get the right offset so these shouldn't stick out, we'll see how well that plan worked out when I put them on because they look massive. Pics on the car to come in the future. Also have some performance pack wheels to get rid of now (dm if interested).

Tires gone wide!!!

Thanks guys, I had 255 and 295 on my last mustang so I was looking to step it up and be a little different.

I can weigh the whole set up with rim, tire, balance, and tpms if that's helpful but I do not know the weight of one rim by itself.

Hmmm that's something that is probably on a spec sheet they gave you? Either way I doubt its going to be very much out of line with other rims of a similar size.

Typically the forgestars are about 5-6 lbs lighter. Obviously it will differ based on offset and size

Tires gone wide!!!

Yeah I didn't get a spec sheet with the weight but I have read similar about 5lb difference all though these new rims and tires are way bigger so they might be close to equal in weight or slightly heavier.

They are the stock staggered pp rims and tires. 1250 miles on them no scratches of any kind. Asking $1200 Obo for them in carnation WA

Pretty disappointed with forge star right now. For all the checks they claim to do I can't understand how something this big could slip by. I unpacked the rest of my rims and two of them don't even have holes to slide on to the hubs with.

The hell? Um yeah they had better cover express shipping both ways or I would be filing fraud charges with my CC.

Tires gone wide!!!

Yeah I contacted mod bargains because they set up the custom order and they are working on it right now. Considering the cost and wait time it's a bummer though.

And I've never seen or heard of anything like it before. I can't imagine that being a common defect like a finish imperfection.

I just can't believe no one noticed during the production process or while mounting and balancing tires on them.

Tires gone wide!!!

I paid half the cost and mine came with stud holes for free. Just kidding. That sucks but I'm sure they will make good on it. Maybe even seems you two new ones and let you keep the unfinished pair.

To be fair they did attempt to put the holes in lol, just didn't punch through as you can see. I think they ran the same measurements in the CNC as they did for the front so the front ones came out fine but it didn't go deep enough for the rears.

If they just let me keep them I'm thinking about taking them to my machine shop and seeing what I can do. If it doesn't work I was thinking they'd make some cool art like a coffee table or clock or something haha.

I doubt they'll let you keep them but if they do I'd for sure take them to a machine shop and get them finished. Then put a set of ET streets on them for the weekends.

I forgot to catch up on this thread. They got the rims drilled and sent them back and gave me some extra caps that I think I'm going to use for coasters or something.

The tires fit perfect without sticking out of the body and look way way better. Also wheel hop and tire spin was incredibly reduced to be pretty much gone now. The petal can hit the floor and it'll actually hook up and go forward compared to the spinning in the same spot the stock set up did. I'm very impressed with them overall. The car does sit a little higher but now they are on I can look to changing the suspension up to fix that.

Also got a nice shine after installing. Both services done by ActaCore Engineering & Design.

For those guys thinking about getting new rims my performance pack rims sold for $1500 today so you can recoup some of the cost that way. Of course thats probably going right back into my car anyway

If I remember correctly the offsets are 35 and 53. I'll have to double check that though it's been awhile.
