Tire and Rim Insurance Question

Have anyone here purchased aftermarket road hazard policies for your rims and tires? My GT is only a few weeks old and Ford advised that they do not offer anything to cover tires and rims. My previous car ( 2014 BMW 535i ) the dealer offered protection plan from a third party company and I declined as it was $80 more per month. Having low profile tires and NJ's bad roads especially after winter I went through 5 bent rims and 3 blown tires in two years which cost me thousands to replace. We just got our first snow this week and I'm nervous to even drive now. If anyone has these coverages please share your experience, costs, etc.

If you go to discount tire you can purchase road hazard for the tires but not the rims

As part of a extended warranty plan and other things we have insurance for the wheels only. It sounds like if we tried to collect off of it - it would take alot - it was a waste of money but we wanted the 7 year bumper to bumper warranty and something else that was part of the pack...
