front fed whipple numbers

my friend just got the new front fed whipple put on his 6M 15' 50th anniversary gt.

here's the link to the kit he got...
2015 Whipple Supercharger Ford Mustang SC System

its the base kit he didn't get any extras, meaning 72lb injectors, reused the stock throttle body and a 3.75" pulley resulting in 10.6 lb's of boost.

so whipple says you should get 650whp on 93 from this base kit.
he made 592whp on 93 octane with the tune whipple sent him and that's in 25-35 degree Fahrenheit weather. seeing as they post dyno sheets of a 6M GT with the same kit only thing different is it has the bigger throttle body and its putting down 718whp on 93 octane on a 68 degree day, it makes his numbers seem really low.

anyone have any experience with this kit on the 15'? I thought ppl were making a lot more than 592whp with this kit.

is it just that he needs a proper dyno tune? the guy at realspeed in long island N.Y where he got the kit installed said he doesn't have any experience with the 15's, and told him he doesn't believe they could get anymore peak power by dyno tuning, although he said he could probably enhance the midrange quite a bit.

what do you guys think... I can post the dyno sheet if requested.

I know dynos are all different and don't really count for much but 592whp seams pretty low when they swear by 650whp.

am I missing something?

From the link you provided:
.
" The industry leading Whipple S550 system makes up to 825 (+390hp) engine horsepower and 640 (+240ft/lb) foot pound of torque on 93 octane fuel! Nearly a 90% power gain with bolting the Whipple SC with it's unique Roval 132mm billet throttle body! - See more at: 2015 Whipple Supercharger Ford Mustang SC System "
.
1st, the #'s are crank not wheel. Rarely do you see " wheel " numbers posted.
2nd, when Whipple posts #'s, you have no idea what corrections were used.
( SAE J1349 & SAE J607 are the most common )
3rd, going to a shop that, " doesn't have any experience with the 15's ", won't give you the best results.

You should be about right without the 132MM TB upgrade. I have the stock kit, 58# injectors, 3,75 pulley, 93 octane, 132mm TB auto with the Whipple tune, dynode at >70f temps 651rwhp.

what you quoted means nothing... thats just them saying what the supercharger can handle. i spoke to whipple via their customer service number and asked the guy on the phone what i should expect from the base kit and he told me 650whp and the shop not knowing much about 15's doesnt mean anything... all they did was install it (very simple kit to install, no cutting), load up the whipple tune, and dyno it.

good numbers bro!... that just makes my friends numbers look super low cuz whipple said 670-680whp with the TB on a manual car, your car is auto and putting down 651whp! which means best case scenario if the TB adds 40whp numbers are still way lower than whipple said and are still way lower than your car. if he made 630whp with the TB on his manual car while your making 650whp on your auto that means he's down about 50whp. automatics scrub way more power than manuals when it comes to whp readings on a dyno.

my friends car dyno'd 385whp 363trq stock on the same dyno so its not like his car was one of the lower performing specimens.

592 just seams low to me when whipple told me 650whp and especially now that this guy says his auto car put down 651whp with just a different TB between us. plus he ran it at 70f!!

my friends getting the 132mm TB from whipple soon anyways so we'll see what happens then.

Good luck and you are correct. The TB is good for about 40 rwhp and since you have a standard you should still be well over 600 without it and easily 670-680 with it.

You are not on a Mustang Dyno? they are always lower.

You can look on the Mustang6 forum and there are a lot of cars auto and standard with the whipple tunes and my numbers are pretty standard.

Hope you get it worked out this Whipple is great and its hard to mess up the tune because only Whipple can touch it. Did they run your car to 7500rpms on the dyno? That could be some of the loss if they let off too soon.

Attached Dyno... 1st pull 3rd gear, 2nd pull 4th gear.

they ran it to 7300rpm... not sure what kind of dyno it was i'll have to ask. good point, i didnt know the whipple tune redline is 7500rpm. thanks for the info... so from the look of the sheet he may have another 20hp up there. we'll make sure they ring it out next time its on the dyno with the 132mm TB.

thanks for the help.
