Supercharger.

Will be getting a supercharger soon. Leaning towards vmp, paxton or vortech. Which one are you guys running? Whats easiest to install? Better numbers

VMP for sure! I have one sitting in my living room as we speak. You get so much out of these kits it's crazy. Click image for larger version

I can get a vmp for 6900. Is that a good deal? Or a paxton with injectors nd pump for 5500

Where are you looking at the VMP kit for that much? I got mine for way less. Also the Paxton's are great kits but really lack in the torque department. For what you get out of the VMP setup and both being around the same price you get, if you will the most "Bang for your buck". Both install wise can be done on a weekend and really aren't to complex. VMP's kit already comes with a wiring harness so no need to de-pin any of the wires.

Its a stage 2 vmp. So 6900 is too much? Where did you get yours ? Also what else do you have to upgrade? Driveshaft? The vmp is faster than vortech nd paxton?

the Paxton I have is awesome. I love it. I have only driven one twin scre but seemed even harder to launch. I actually like the minimal spool I get. Launch quick then kicks in. I can tell you that if the block can handle it (and it will someday when I do some internal work) the Paxton can get to a higher output than the twins... MAYBE the Mamouth K&B woud be close but it is way to expensve lol. I got mine with plugs, maxflow BOV ID 10000 injetors, JLT CAI and boss adapter for 6700

BTW I did Driveshaft at same time but that was mainly because went to Tremec transmission also

I got my VMP kit for around 5600 out the door. I didn't want the phase 2 because I'm going a different route then the VMP boost a pump, different injectors, and I already have smaller pulleys laying around. I already have a fully adjustable suspension and a good set of tires sitting in the garage. So I'll be able to get all the power to the ground with out issue. It's really comes down to what you want out of the system. Both type blowers are going to be great. I just personally wanted a PD blower that I could really grow into.

My neighbor is going with the 2.8 whipple, but I have yet to research to back up his claim of it being the best route to go. I look forward to hearing how it goes for him.

What other mods should i do to back up the power? I hear half shafts break easily and driveshafts. Should i look into that or only if im going to be tracking the car?

Every thing from the clutch, driveshaft, and half shafts. I'm doing billet oil pump gears and timing chain sprockets when my blower goes on just for good measure.

Whipple 2.9 here,,, 50 state carb legal, Whipple tune, 132mm TB upgrade, 93 octane 651 RWHP with my auto. Drives better than stock and is crazy fast at about 1/4 throttle when the boost starts kicking in.. They all have good systems but Whipple has my vote and their tune is hard to beat on power and drivability for a DD.

Whipple tune, 132mm TB and dual fan upgrades from Whipple. I have a MF 3" street catback system too. Other than that stock and I have Whipples warranty good for $5000 on engine. They now offer 72# injectors for more HP if you want. I have the 58#. If you plan to add LT's or maybe a pulley drop that would keep you good for about another 100RWHP with their tune. Their system is not the cheapest but their technology is ahead of the pack in my opinion and there are some good deals out there for forum members.

the new 2.9L front fed whipple is the best kit out there for the 15's right now. no cutting is involved with install. the vmp/roush blowers require you to shave down your valve chain cover and to cut your k-brace.

also the new 2.9L whipple is by far the most capable for the price. puts down big numbers.

No just somewhere around 690-700rwhp if you like that and drive better than stock if you get the 132mm tb upgrade and Whipples tune.

Depends on what your goal is, there is a guy in Texas running 10.5 @ 134 on whipples tune, could you get more out of it? LR is running 9.7 at 151 with theirs. Yes but would it be reliable? Drive as good? etc, etc? its your choice on what you want and the warranty is only good with whipple tune and you can't change without them knowing they lock it.
