Picking up my new '16 GT tomorrow. What can I expect?

My new GT will be arriving at the dealer today and prepped (including Roush Stage 3 exhaust) tomorrow. I got it stripped except for the performance package. Anyone have a similarly equipped '15 or '16 GT and would be kind enough to share their experiences and likes/dislikes?

I don't intend to track the car, but enjoy a "brisk" ride through twisties every now and again.

Congrats on the new GT, and welcome to the forum!
I had no idea that they made a tunable exhaust system like that! That is WAY cool, and I like it a lot....

Thanks, Guard! If what the salesman told me is true, a customer ordered the exhaust but for some reason didn't follow through with the purchase. So they offered it to me at what is supposedly dealer cost ($950). I have no idea if he is pulling my leg or not, but it seems reasonable to me, expecially since it is now covered under the warranty.

I thought the OEM exhaust note was a bit subdued for my taste, so when he offered it to me, it didn't take a lot of convincing.

What is a Roush Stage III exhaust? And it seems like a lot of money for whatever it is.

Google it, and there are some sound clips showing the dial, with four settings......Touring, Sport, Track and Custom.
Touring sounds pretty much like stock, and they get progressively louder from there. Pretty cool.
I had the two stage exhaust on my 2008 Corvette and loved it. Wife wanted it quiet, but when driving alone, I could YAHOO the heck out of it and have the tone I loved!

Congrats on the new ride. Honestly if I didn't have my 14 gt I'd be picking up a silver 16 with the pp. But it is what it is.. I still love her lol.

Congrats on the new ride! That's how I would get one, no frills except where it matters

I know a guy who daily drives a base '15 5.0 up here in WI. He test drove basically a fully loaded premium 401A GT and the base GT. The 401A had a lot of nice features but he couldn't see spending the extra money on mainly tech/nav stuff.
Only thing he wishes he would've gotten was heated seats as it gets pretty cold here for a few months, but you probably don't have that issue as much.
Performance wise he couldn't be happier. Took some of the money he saved and got exhaust and a tune.

Thanks to all who have responded! I am, at age 51, supposed to be too old to get excited over silly things like car purchases, but I'll be damned if I'm not counting down the hours.

Absolutely nothing wrong with that! I took a half day at work the day I picked up my Mach 1. I swear those 4 hours I worked felt like 4 days

Have fun picking her up! Be sure to post some pics too.

Mine will be a year old on the 23rd of this month. I'm 75, so I wasn't all that hyped up about it, but I do enjoy driving it (6 spd. manual). Mine is pretty well loaded, got the blind side warning, rear sensing system and camera, nav system. I will never have another car without those first three safety features. I assume they come standard with the Premium Pkg. I hope you enjoy it.

Roush lists that exhaust at just under $2700 on their website. That is one killer deal you are getting. Hope you enjoy driving it!

Well, turns out the dealer salesman is/was full of isht. I picked up the car on Thursday, and asked to see the Roush exhaust. It's not the Stage 3, it's probably not even Stage 2. Just 2 Roush mufflers and tips that look pretty much exactly like the stock mufflers. So after I threatened to cancel the sale, they are knocking it off the sales price. So, they're basically giving me Roush axlebacks of unknown (at least to me) origin. They didn't have clamps to install them on Thursday, so tomorrow am I am dropping the car off to have them installed. Not happy, but not enough to make me walk away. Really love the car - and I haven't even pushed it in any way shape or form.

Can't go wrong with just the axle backs bud although I would be upset. I get a lot of compliments on mine

Oh, I am sure they will beat the pants off the stock exhaust setup. I'm just ticked at the dealer for trying such a bull**** cheesy tactic on me, especially after I had to go round and round with them on not wanting the extended warranty and paint protection/fabric protection. They are persistent sons of *****es.

That's how they make their money.. Selling the extras!!! I always love the feeling of buying a new car but hate the process. My last car I bought online from another state and I didn't have to deal with that bs

Those wascally sales weasels offer everything but weasel protection. Sounds like you know how to handle em though! Mine listed the car I ordered on their website for a better price than we agreed on. Sure was a surprise to the sales weasel when I produced a screen shot as he was writing up the cost sheet. Saved me more money though.
